  1. Yeah? I thought the silvery skin was more plum than cherry.
  2. I’d like to think they know better than I do……
  3. That’s how I found out it was cherry 😂 Some are really red inside and distinctive but the larger ones have little colour but the distinct smell. The one I think to be Apple smells fruity I don’t believe it’s cherry.
  4. Wasn’t replying to you 😂 Just checked them out, some nice stoves, think I’ll add one to the list.
  5. We have a Charnwood, love it, but not so keen on their more modern looking stoves. I believe Stovax and Burley are also made in the UK
  6. Looks nice that. Do you run it most of the day?
  7. No apple? The surgeon who dropped them off said it was mostly apple.
  8. Remember them on a plum tree we had when I was a kid.
  9. Looking to get a new log burner. It will be on more often than not in the winter. Our max size is 72cm W and 42cm D. Over 80cm H Three adjoining rooms, one being a conservatory, so a good output would be ideal. Looking for something modern looking with as big of a window as possible. Looking at a Stovax Vogue Medium and a Burley Crownley to give some sorta idea on style. But open to suggestions.
  10. That’s why I’m asking before 🤣
  11. I’m thinking……. Plum Cherry Apple Cherry Cherry with sap and ivy.
  12. That what I was thinking of doing but I’m not sure I’ll be processing logs big enough to keep if off the ground. I have seen these, they don’t look stable at all 😂
  13. Any recommendations? or other cutting set ups for smallish logs. (processing logs for burner)
  14. Been building a new log store, so will hopefully have plenty of space to get things arranged nicely. (until I get my first drop from here and I realise I need another store 🤣)
  15. Nice advice, thank you. Im pretty confident I can change the chain and give it a good clean without any issues. Getting the correct tension, I’d imagine there’s differing opinions. I’ll check out some videos and post here if need be.
  16. Thanks for the recommendation. I’ve ordered a set, I’ll let you know how I get on.
  17. This is all getting very complicated 😂
  18. You may be right. After a few good cuts it’s stopped cutting and I’m getting sparks. Will any chain the right length fit ok to the “bar”
  19. Gave the chain a little loosen and a little file. so much better!!! Thanks chaps.
  20. 😂 I was surprised how black it came out. I’ve topped it up with fresh oil that I bought last week. Can’t say what was out in it before.
  21. Assuming the oil is good
  22. Nothing is too basic, I’m very much learning here. No idea what the tension should be. It feels oiled, I’ll check it on some paper. How would I fix an oiling issue? Having nothing to compare the sharpness to it’s hard for me to say. IMG_0675.mov
  23. I picked it up cheap second hand to give it a go. It looked new, said it had hardly been used. Im not sure if it’s me or the saw, it is my first time using one, but it doesn’t really cut very well. The blade just seems to get very hot. Anything I should look at? I’ve put oil in it and the blade seems to be tight.
  24. Moisture meter is saying 23. Is it ok to store inside with other logs?
