  1. I’m thinking……. Plum Cherry Apple Cherry Cherry with sap and ivy.
  2. That what I was thinking of doing but I’m not sure I’ll be processing logs big enough to keep if off the ground. I have seen these, they don’t look stable at all 😂
  3. Any recommendations? or other cutting set ups for smallish logs. (processing logs for burner)
  4. Been building a new log store, so will hopefully have plenty of space to get things arranged nicely. (until I get my first drop from here and I realise I need another store 🤣)
  5. Nice advice, thank you. Im pretty confident I can change the chain and give it a good clean without any issues. Getting the correct tension, I’d imagine there’s differing opinions. I’ll check out some videos and post here if need be.
  6. Thanks for the recommendation. I’ve ordered a set, I’ll let you know how I get on.
  7. This is all getting very complicated 😂
  8. You may be right. After a few good cuts it’s stopped cutting and I’m getting sparks. Will any chain the right length fit ok to the “bar”
  9. Gave the chain a little loosen and a little file. so much better!!! Thanks chaps.
  10. 😂 I was surprised how black it came out. I’ve topped it up with fresh oil that I bought last week. Can’t say what was out in it before.
  11. Assuming the oil is good
  12. Nothing is too basic, I’m very much learning here. No idea what the tension should be. It feels oiled, I’ll check it on some paper. How would I fix an oiling issue? Having nothing to compare the sharpness to it’s hard for me to say. IMG_0675.mov
  13. I picked it up cheap second hand to give it a go. It looked new, said it had hardly been used. Im not sure if it’s me or the saw, it is my first time using one, but it doesn’t really cut very well. The blade just seems to get very hot. Anything I should look at? I’ve put oil in it and the blade seems to be tight.
  14. Moisture meter is saying 23. Is it ok to store inside with other logs?
  15. The previous owner of our house (and tree) was a tree surgeon………, I assume he did it.
  16. Asked on a FB group and they were the only ones local enough to do it for a reasonable price. Sent the image on how I wanted it, said no problem.
  17. Yep, showed them the photo I posted here. Doing nothing would have been a closer resemblance.
  18. Yep, my tree. Seems very drastic. Not what I was expecting. No caravan. Decided to climb the tree and not use a ladder.
  19. I guess there’s surgeons that trim trees and those that just want to take them down 😢
  20. I liked the poplar that I used, still got a little of it. Found it burnt for quite a long time.
  21. Picked up a nice little bargain today…… Mac Allister 16” electric chainsaw.
  22. It’s far too heavy to be poplar. Ash as others have said would make much more sense.
  23. I thought it was poplar but is really heavy and feels solid!
  24. Will this continue to rot or will it start to dry now it’s split?
