  1. So you’re a fan……
  2. Can you season it quickly? I assumed it would take longer than most due to its high moisture content.
  3. Asked Google image search, the list of trees it didn’t mention would be shorter 🤣
  4. I may add that it split very well.
  5. Afraid that’s all I’ve got, it’s been chopped now.
  6. would oak look like this once split?
  7. What did we do before google street view 🤣 looks like a huge Oak tree, maybe a Ash tree and a plum tree. Not sure the possible plum has been taken down but the other 2 (maybe3) have
  8. Not had any oak before so not sure how it should smell. But it’s got a sweet smell to it. Maybe a mixture of logs 🤷‍♂️ One of them were huge, I’d imagine that was oak.
  9. That’s what I thought, but it has such a sweet smell like cherry.
  10. I didn’t realise you guys would be such fans of them 😂
  11. Shame as its a very large palm., or at least would have been. Think it’s been starved of both sun and water for a while. Been offered a large Chinese Windmill palm (I believe), it’s in the ground and also not looking too healthy. is digging it up advisable and is it worth the effort?
  12. I’ve inherited a palm of some sort but it’s in a bad way. how can I tell if there’s any life left in it and anything I can do to help it?
  13. I’ve cut back what I can and in doing so I found a few of these…….
  14. It has some woolly aphids but I don’t think they are not the cause, more a product of.
  15. Been feeding and watering, but it’s a very poorly tree. Blossom wilt has very much taken over the whole tree.
  16. This stuff?
  17. I did look there, not a great help.
  18. Best way of stopping it?
  19. Our apple tree has started to look poorly again, more or less a year to the day. Yesterday the tree looked healthy and full of blossom, today it’s very wilted in places, the leaves look frosty and dead. Last year we put it down to woolly aphids. This year there are some, haven’t seen a great deal and have been scrubbing with methylated spirits as soon as they are discovered. Would like to know what’s causing the tree to go like this and put a stop to it.
  20. I like this reply. i have only seen the holes in the bark while splitting the logs today. Let me go grab a snap……. 📸
  21. It looks like it’s in some fresh ash I have. Can only see a few holes but there is lots of powder like wood dust where they are sitting. Plenty of precautions wood in the house, the log store is made of wood, as is the fences around it. And obviously all my other logs that I have stored. Is it worth spraying with woodworm killer? Going to be very hard to find all the effected logs.
  22. Looks like I may have wood work in some of my logs. I'm guessing this will spread unless stopped. Any advice on what to do?
