  1. Apologise, I thought you where a contractor looking for advice rather than a home owner. Best of luck
  2. Great grinder. We ramp ours onto the back of a tipper bed and ratchet down to the lashing points in the bed......probably worth getting a fabricator to make some secure points. You can also tow the chipper doing it this way so one of you can be grinding while someones doing a chipper run
  3. Not meaning to sound like a dick, but when you've got arguing neighbours we just tell them to sort it out themselves then give us a call. The amount of time, energy and money these things take is never worth getting involved.
  4. Cheers for that, although having watched it there was no mention of loler/puwer, I've emailed them to ask. Defo a good shout
  5. Does any such app exist for logging puwer/loler/R.A's etc? We're about to move to doing work on the motorways so have to start looking at streamlining everything. Any help is appreciated as always.
  6. Arbs good and you can make good money if your head is screwed on. A few years of grinding and you'll be fine. 33 is nothing, I switched at 37, give it a punt
  7. If youre a legit company/one man band, you should be able to open an account with a Local groundcare company. You don't need a chipper ticket if you are competent. If you wanted to do your ticket then it's a level 2 day course run through NPTC and there should be plenty of providers where you are. Chipper-wise you would be looking at a 6" forst/timberwolf/greenmech etc. Bear in mind that if its just clippings youre chipping its a royal pain in the arse feeding them through!
  8. Cheers Spud. Yeah it's a big bore, i bouhht it from a guy that had it ported, its been running for years....checked the obvious stuff like the inlet and impulse and can't see anything. What would you advise to buy for pressurre/vac?
  9. Got a ported 660, was running fine then after a few minutes cutting it would start to race, am I correct in saying this sounds like a seals gone? When adjusting the Carb/low/high it's difficult to get it to any sort of usable speed. I've checked the air intake boot and the seals on the carb which appear to be ok, can anyone recommend a pressure/vacuum gauge that would work? Any help is welcome. Thanks
  10. Trees gubbed. Sorbus notoriously struggle to compartmentalise any wounds, especially big header cuts like this one. Best thing you can do is try and get someone to selectively prune new growth (which will be numerous) further down the line and hope rot pockets aren't too bad
  11. Wouldn't imagine poplar would be any good, it's super light weight. You're better using dense hard woods
  12. The damage calculated won't just be for the removal of the tree, they may end up having to replace "like for like" depending on if it has a high amenity value. You're best to consult a qualified arborist.
  13. Trees done, it might not know it yet. I'd be claiming against the contractor
  14. Whats this?
  15. Silver leaf is uncommon in a young tree, usually see it in older trees that have been pruned
