Thanks for the great info, i will check it out, and yeah i understand that just because people are in the "trade" doesnt mean they know what they talk about, you should hear some of the stuff i hear working in I.T from I.T pros lol

Hi Joe, thanks for the good solid advice. Im going to call some local companies this week to seer fi there is a possibility of ground work. TBH the money isn't an issue, i am primarily making the move due to mental health issues and for my overall well being so i will be happy just to be outside, doing some honest solid graft, and climbing trees (im an avid rock climber as it is). Thanks for the info. Im pretty fit and have years of experience rock climbing so hopefully that will help. I understand its a different skill set and different type of climbing and fitness however as i mentioned i am fit and eager to learn so i will take your advice and look for groundwork in my area although i still want to do a course and get the certs (i think i need them anyway so why not). thanks Mark

Hi all, first post, great to be here :) I am looking to change career completely from I.T to Arborist/Tree Surgeon (i wish i had made the move sooner!) I have started looking around for courses and i have found a few long term courses (4-6 weeks) and i was wondering if you more experienced guys could tell me if they are the way to go and if not what would you advise? I am in the North Devon area so i am also looking for courses close by so i dont need to do Airbnb for the duration. Kind regards and thanks for the help, Mark
