  1. How can I tell if I’m getting to the weight limit on my transit crew cab, someone has mentioned about the bottom leaf spring having a gap between the upper leaf spring and when they are close to touching each other you are getting to the max weight load. Is this true? Thanks Paul
  2. I’m interested If anyone is selling a 150 or a 230? message me some details if your thinking of selling. Thanks Paul Tomo
  3. Thanks Ian, I can see that the 150 would be with me a lot quicker than the 230 would be. I used the 230 on my chipper course and it is a beast of a machine. The Instrutor who I had on the course said the 150 would be an ideal machine and it would work well for the work that I’m doing, plus it’s a lot cheaper than the 230. Maybe at the moment the 150 would be the more logical machine to go for has I’m still building my business up. The wife is putting some money in to help me out and her advice to me is start with the 150 and then buy a 230 when you’ve built up the business. I have seen a 230 but I’ll be taking too much from the wife to buy it and one side of me is saying buy it but the other side says save up more cash or buy a 150. thanks Paul Tomo
  4. Ok The 230 is the machine I’ll be buying then. All I need to do now is find a decent second hand Timberwolf TW230 with low hours. I’ve put in the Arbtrader a wanted add last week and a one machine looks promising but if anyone is looking at selling one or you know anyone selling one then please let me know. I would to thank you all for the input you have made regarding this thread. Thanks Paul Tomo
  5. Job finished, thanks for your advice folks.
  6. Thanks Will, I’ll take a look today.
  7. ffs it isn’t rocket science??? Not to sure what your meaning.
  8. Anyone tell me about having my transit flatbed suspension upgraded, what sort of cost and where do I go to have the work done. thanks
  9. Whit size timber would be ok for the frame work and should i just use wood screw and maybe a few bolts for the side panels and head board.
  10. I guess if the vehicle body and the drop boards have vinyl signage then I could get away without doing the back boards, the vehicle body colour is Black. Marine ply I’ve heard is the best board to buy and if it’s well painted on the outside with undercoat and then gloss and some kind of wood treatment for the inside and making sure to get the edges then this should do the trick.
  11. Do any of you advertise on the side boards? If so what type stickers or painted?
  12. Thanks, I’ll go the same height as the cab I think. I don’t want to much above the cab ?
  13. Thanks for the info. Would you finish it with paint or wood stain? I’m thinking of advertising as well.
  14. What thickness would they need to be. I would want a roof so 4 8x4 sheets ?
  15. I’m hopefully buying a transit tipper for my tree surgery business and I will be needing to sort the side boards and head board. Could you please let me your ideas on size of boards I will need to buy and some idea on how to make the back up. Pics would be great to give me some idea on how the back is made up. thanks Paul
  16. I know of a cherry tree that is need of some heavy limb removal, this would save the tree from major trunk separation/splitting. What could happen to the tree if pruning happens at this time of year.
  17. I’ll take a look Tim thanks, what would you go for petrol or diesel?
  18. The thought has crossed my mind and it might be the option that I’ll be taking.
  19. Yes Mick, Used the 230 a couple of times awesome bit of kit I must say, my heart is set on the 230 to be honest. I'm not sure on what I'll be paying for the 230 but it must be around £10,000 to £13,000 mark, I've seen them at that price and I've also seen the 150's about £7,000
  20. Hopefully later this year my tree surgery business will be busy enough for the purchase of a Timberwolf Wood chipper and no doubt it will be a second wood chipper. The price of the Timberwolf 150 is a few thousand cheaper than the 230 model. I would like for some feedback from anyone that has used both machines and has a consideration to one or the other. I will be buying the towable model. thank...Paul Tomo
  21. Hi, I was just wondering what rope you ended up using for the zigzag?

  23. I’ve looked on amazon and other sites and I can see lots of different names that look like the same winch so their must be copy’s. I guess I could you use it for stump removal depending on the size of stump that is.
  24. That’s all I wanted to use it for Andy, turning and hung up trees. That’s what we used it for on the arborist course I did. £203 there going for and it’s the same one I used on the course.
