  1. No thats the problem. you aren't supposed to tow even an empty trailer even the potential gross train weight is higher than stated on the towing vehicle. i'e cant tow a 2700 empty trailer with the vivaro.- as far as i've seen and heard.
  2. So looking at getting a trailer but limited to weight from having various sized vehicles. I'm essentially looking for a 10x5 caged trailer and would prefer one with wheels to the side rather than directly underneath and 2700kg . I never use for wood chip but more for shifting fencing, quad bike, type 1 and occasional mini digger, so loading height is better lower. - correct me if i'm wrong? My main question is thus- can i change the trailer details plate to down rate it?. We use vivaros and rangers and the vivaro can only tow 2000kg so thinking of changing the plate to 2000kg then remove it when it goes on the rangers that can handle 2700kg. Would there be any legal problems if this happened at all?
  3. Sorry not much to add. But I got bored and ripped apart the trailer from on my crytec chipper and bolted it to one of our tracked loaders. Makes it easier for getting around the yard and I'm forced to put the whole lot on a larger trailer, as the chipper was apparently road legal. It could easily bounce higher than I can jump! Surprised by how much fits through this chipper and now it will get even closer on jobs, if we ever actually use it.
  4. Has anyone used a pesticide applicator with a paintbrush head? I'm looking to be able to basically paint stumps rather than spraying them and getting any drift. Is there a particular head that fits on the end of a knapsack sprayers Lance or has anyone adapted one? I'm spraying thousands of birch 1" stumps
  5. Just hire an etesia attilla or grillo ride.on brush cutter. Great for wild flower meadows or one cut a year.
  6. Anyone know if the cs100 exhaust should glow bright red within 1 min or so of being on? Just brought one but thinking it's probably best to drop at a proper servicers and get the once over.
  7. Where will you be looking to advertise, to be reaching farmers or estate owners?
  8. Thanks for the input. Scrub wise it's small pine and birch so nothing major. I will look into the smaller cs100 I didn't realise that it takes the same size as the 18. And for what I'm looking for it may be the easiest option.
  9. Looking for advice on various chippers. I'm basically looking for a smaller chipper that can be easily towed with a larger quad bike. Essentially something like a tw18 or 125/160. The question being as we always leave logs on site and generally just chip tops and brash, am I really going to notice the difference or feel the difference in getting the smaller of the above models. We only do scrub clearance and woodland thinning so getting to site and being easily moveable is more important than chip speed. I'm used to using the larger 6" timberwolfs but just looking for opinions on these both. We rarely use chippers through the year but probably just enough in one year to justify buying an older entec/tw instead of renting one when needed.
  10. If anyone is interested the solenoid valve had gone. Changed and sorted under warranty.
  11. Yeah I think returning is the best option. Peatff yeah that's the procedure. In choke turn on and leave for 90 sec.
  12. Chainbreak is fine and not rubbing at all. Doesn't change is chainbreak is on or off. Just turns off the minute the trigger isn't on.
  13. Before I return to the point of sale thought I'd ask for advice here. Brand new ms 261c. 1 week out of the box and has just been used for cutting heathland scrub. It starts first time at the beginning of the day but after that it has trouble starting unless you hold the trigger and pull. If you don't rev it it cuts out straight away. It won't idle at all. I have tried the reset move but it won't idle so I can't reset it. Fuel/ fueline/ carb problem? Or easier to just give back to honeys?
  14. We've been asked to price some clearance work on a local heathland. bit to keep us busy over the winter crimbo period. But struggling to work a realistic price as not really done it before, apart from back in the day when i was a young volunteer with a bow saw! does anyone have a rough price or know roughly what is charged per hectare nowadays so i don't go in with something stupid. it's hand cutting, dragging by hand to be burnt. no machines except chainsaws for cutting and backpack stump treatment. i think around 15 man days of work or there abouts so getting my price from that roughly. mixed scrub birch gorse oak all around 10 years roughly and fairly dense. any idea anyone?
