I’m no Bill Gates but have been able to book tickets for other shows, flight tickets etc? Have given up on this one😫. Have had a look to find out how much it is on the day but not very obvious(£12 pre booked) rubbish web site!

Wouldn't be a tree but an Ent. Bit slow, looks after trees, but gets there in the end.

If any of you are puzzled Ents were tree shepherds in Lord of the Rings.

Glad you explained what an Ent was? I thought you’d spelt it wrong😂

  3. It’s more than likely asbestos. The repair is down to what the council wants. When you inform them about the damage stand by for the ground sinking all around you😳. Barriers, reports, hazmat suits, asbestos outfit turning up with mobile decontamination unit, temporary poly sheeting, complete roof removal and re-sheet? That’s the worst that can happen, and don’t think the council will pay for it🤔

Must admit I wondered if that may be the problem from the size of chip, I'm using one of the Stihl 2 in 1's to sharpen.

I've used them on other saws / chains before and they've been great, I checked what size I needed when I bought this saw.

Sure I've got a gauge somewhere so can dig it out and check 👍

I use these and find it takes the rakers down too much. I take the flat file out and put it back in every couple of files. That shouldn’t be the case with you though if it’s not cutting.

They heard a bunch of tree guys were in the area and didn’t want the sweepings put in their bin again🤔

  6. I don’t think the electric companies would make this sort of investment if it wasn’t required. What makes you think it’s destined for England? Isn’t there a  national grid of power lines. The electric can run both ways along a cable? There were large areas of Scotland without power for several weeks after the gales and actually some English came up and helped to fix them. Didn’t hear any body complain then? Why does everything in Scotland have to be political and anti English or the blame the English for this and that🤔. I’ve just had a look in my meter cabinet and it doesn’t differentiate between English or Scottish or Welsh or even Norwegian and it pains me to say even French😳 as to where the electric was made. If it is made in Scotland then thanks very much, but it’s expensive😳. Perhaps it’s because of the transport costs?

A fantastic machine (now replaced by the SG40) but a massive design fault - most grinders apparently have a system that means if you let go of the control lever, or move away from the controls the cutter wheel stops...not so the bandit - you can have the cutter wheel running at full throttle and walk away and leave it going. If you see my thread "to all stump grinder operators" you will see what happened when I walked away from my controls round the front of the machine to briefly stand up the debris guard that the wind had blown over....

Yes I shouldn't have left it running when I left the controls, yes I shouldn't have walked round the front of it, and yes Bandit would say that I shouldn't have done it, there's nothing wrong with the machine but the fact is there's loads of us idiots out there that do stuff like that and you would expect the machine to have a 'dead mans handle' or similar...

I take full responsibility for my actions that day, but why on earth wouldn't the manufacturer fit that basic safety feature!!

There’s a lot of grinders that don’t have a dead man’s handle. Sorry to here about your accident, hope your on the mend, long, painful process no doubt. It’s easily done in a moment of madness. Plenty of farmers/ contractors injured and killed with PTO stuff that they’re sorting out when really it should of been turned off along with the engine. We all seem to be under pressure to get more done and quicker and that’s when things go wrong. All the best to you mate.

I am not actually sure what you were trying to say.

When I did my will it was explained like this, it was also the case when my father passed away.

Each person has 350 k allowance.  If one partner dies and the leaves to the other then they pass away within a designated period, the kids would be inline to pay IHT of the value exceeded 350 k.

The same scenario but the initial couple are married.  The kids would then have double the allowance I.e 700k before being required to pay IHT.

If the couple own a house and leave it to direct descendants- children or grandkids the value is added to the rest giving a total of 1 million as Stubby says. Google Money saving Expert Martin Lewis and he explains it far better than me🤔.

IIRC the IHT bit is 325k per person, so if you are married then that is doubled.

So 650k allowance before paying tax to the Gov.

At least that was the case and advice when I made out my Will a few years ago.  Me and the missus are not married and the lawyer highlighted this and advised we get married as it would be financially beneficial for my kids.

Just went on Martin Lewis’s website to confirm what I said? Google it and it will confirm what I’m trying to say.

Yes, best not to die with more than £325,000.00 in assets and cash.

You can give away £3000 a year to anyone you choose in the 7 years before you die ... tax free

You can give away/gift any amount 7 years before your death ... tax free

    Keep records...

I am not a tax lawyer but have recently suffered from parents death.

Pretty sure if assets include a residence left to direct descendants such as kids and or grandkids the IHT threshold could be £1 mil. Consisting of £325,000 basic inheritance tax allowance and £175,000 residence nil rate band x 2, If husband leaves everything to spouse and spouse dies leaving it all to direct descendants or Vicky verky🤔. As I navigate my way through life’s up and downs I don’t think my kids will have to find any inheritance tax to pay😂

She got off very lightly in my opinion.

The harm she has caused to the accused men and their families; not to mention to the cases of every person who really is the victim of an assault is immeasurable.

Like the 99% of reported rapes that do not lead to conviction and not all rapes are reported. It’s a shame the police don’t put as much effort with the investigation in all rapes.

The nonsense that someone should always be believed based entirely on their gender without giving any consideration whatsoever to the facts.

Which then leads to a broader issue within society where people  jump to conclusions and make decisions about certain subjects based on a predetermined notion rather than an open mind.

Rape victims are not always believed🤔 men and boys get raped as well so that’s rubbish.

Talk about people being desperate. I put some pallets up on the village facebook group free to collect. Guy messaged me asking if he could have them for firewood. Hes coming round with a wheelbarrow to collect them. He lives on the council estate the other side of the village, about half a mile away 😁

Should have put them up for £595 in hindsight.

At least your not saying there’s 2 or 3 tonne of wood and open to best offers. You’ve made a good job of cleaning of the ivy🤔

  14. And several thousands of pounds for van repairs or a write off? It’s not just the loss of kit? How much time off work did he loose with all the hassle of reporting, waiting for probably a no-show from plod? Sourcing a replacement van, tools, lost work etc. bastards need throwing in the stocks as a minimum and then some🤔
