  1. To be fair I've never touched the carb settings on any of my stuff. Just pick up from dealer and away we go. Maybe I need to buy a tacho and learn how to tune a two stroke properly! No response from echo yet, i suspect a sample of the fuel in the tank is away for testing?
  2. You can buy an attachment for a normal grease gun which you can just screw into the thread. Here you go [ame=https://www.amazon.co.uk/Thread-Double-Coupler-Operated-Flexible/dp/B00BG8WIC8/ref=sr_1_16?ie=UTF8&qid=1486900134&sr=8-16&keywords=grease+gun+flexible+hose]3/8" Male Thread Double Coupler Manual Operated Flexible Grease Guns Hose 245mm Length: Amazon.co.uk: DIY & Tools[/ame] I use this for exactly the same purpose.
  3. Quite right, if it will fit and the location or tree condition allows it's fell every time for me!
  4. Yep and price a new street light into the job and book some local civils lads to be there by 0930 when your just blowing the sawdust up to fit the new light! I bet a streetlight is cheaper than a crane!
  5. Mines registered for commercial so only two years, but after seven months use I'd hope it's user error and not manufacturer! It's used for arb mainly, used daily but not as heavy as forestry use so barely run in I'd have thought!
  6. My old makita died and a few cheappos and days later I opted for a dewalt with 4.0ah batteries. I bought it for the same purpose and it copes no bother, had it about a year and no issues. Amazon have some good deals, or should I say did when I got mine.
  7. Thanks, you're coming up with the same answers as I did. We shall see what echo uk say and do about it.
  8. I have loads of echo kit and until now none of it has put a foot wrong. The 501sx is seven months old and is running on the same mix as everything else (50:1 with stihl hp super green variety oil). The saw just stopped having drunk a litre of the same mix at least and the other kit continues to work. The saw is in the shop as it's under warranty, the pot and piston are scored both sides. As I refuse to blame the mix, good quality fuel, good quality oil, fresh mix same stuff as everything is running on with no upset. So what caused this? I'm guessing a small air leak? Hope this doesn't ruin my love affair with echo as I've fallen out with husky and stihl apart from their big saws!
  9. We have two 540xp's and they're always a little bit broken! Off to kent to look at a job this month and will be stopping at jonsies on the way back for a couple of 201tcm!
  10. Because if you're in that get up, you want to be seen darling!
  11. Go on I will join in, I may use it like a sedan chair and get the lads to carry me around on quotes! (I jest) Count me in, I will pay extra for one of the red ones. What price per unit is walk away price?
  12. I try and arrange quotes for when I'm working nearby to save additional diesel. So generally scruffy sawdust covered work gear. Tend to find people expect you to be in workwear and what you say and how you say it wins the job. That said I work in a predominantly industrial area so most people get scruffy at work!
