Thanks and yes the 090G is a biggie she runs like a dream too but have to fix a few cosmetic stuff. The Bow is an old stihl one, working on a buddy that has two brush bows now. As well in my area we have large diameter trees, within the regulations we must follow we are attached from ground to returning to ground. Sometimes ascending the rope is faster than flipping a 18.5m flipline. Even using your lifeline as a flipline while after awhile your arms get really sore But when your up there using your spikes are faster.

I think the placement of the ascender is the main issue, i have the KK on my Gecko spurs and in my thinking if it was mounted higher the spike could could catch the line. Unless of course there was an additional mount that would keep the rope away from the spike. But then again, it never hurts to try something, as i am personally not too impressed with how the KK reacts.

New to this forum, but had to put my thoughts in here. I began in Utility (25 years ago), then bounced between residential and back to Utility through my career (mainly with one company). But now that I have aged, I find that having started in Utility was a good choice. My reasoning is that with the area I have worked Canada mainly (but North American for storms and such) I find that my experience is more sot after in the powerline section. As well when working utility and you have a mistake it usually has a shocking repercussion (sorry had to . So I found that I was even more cautious on my day to day workings. Not to say res does not have it's issues or possibility of large issues to happen. But as a instructor now, I see more people from res coming into my line of work. From that I hear a lot of discussion on how they wished they came through utility to start their careers. Plus also as a trainer having a lot of experience in many facets of the trade is a good thing as it makes you more adaptable to different training that a client would ask for.

Hello I am new to the site, from across the pond in Canada and have been rebuilding these saws for awhile now. Just recently picked up these four beauties to start to restore. Having one heck of a time finding (non-knock off) parts, too many pieces of junk out there. Wish i could head over to Germany for one week and a large seacan, man would i fill it up
