  1. See this is why I don't tend to spend time on here. That's not what I was getting at, at all.
  2. That's it though, in the recent past, my very good mate and I were brought in for a Beech Dismantle, and I overheard the Foreman/head groundy say to the boss, 'they are making you look so professional '. We got a two day priced job done by lunchtime, and we only walked away with our day rates, £150 each.
  3. Because when it's good. It's brilliant. On a big rigging job with a group of good lads having a laugh, where you don't have to shout and scream, stuff just gets done. It's the best.
  4. That's exactly my view. I don't want to set up. I want to help build things. I worked for some great firms in the past, moved from New Forest area, with good contacts, and average wages but had good quality work, and great craic with the lads/lasses I worked with. Then moved to the North-west and struggling to find really good quality work. Let alone many people who will give me the time of day to give me a trial. I'm a humble lad, I just want to get on an work. Do a good job. Have fun and have a good time.
  5. Try being a Freelance climber with 11 years experience, Degree in Arboriculture, not afraid to graft, climbing, rigging and 7.5t +e licence. Enjoy the difficult and shitty jobs people are too scared to do, not afraid to get my hands dirty on the ground but end up having to work for people with lesser knowledge and understanding of trees, modern day pruning, climbing and rigging techniques. Because I am asking £150 a day with climbing kit, rigging kit, saws, my own fuel and loler certificates and insurance and they tell me Iive got to be joking.
  6. Hi, I'm doing the UK AND I climbing comp in Exeter. I live near Penrith and wondered if any lads wanted to do some practice. Mostly aerial rescue and free ascent event? Pm me. Cheers Ben
  7. Pics would be handy. Maybe span rigging either off a neighbouring tree or off the limb itself. Tagline on the limb can pull it about a bit.
  8. I back mine up with a 19mm dead eye and karabiner into the hole for the visor.
  9. Hi, My names Ben. Recently moved to Cumbria from Southampton. Have the usual climbing tickets including 40, 41. Off road forklift. C1 + e entitlement on my license. Looking for a some days. Based outside Penrith have all my own climbing and rigging kit, with Loler certs, saws. Use my own fuel. Have worked on things from big contracts like Longleat Safari Park and National Trust gardens to Misses Miggins Cotoneaster. Thanks Ben
  10. I think it's 3/8 any way. The chain was bigger than 1/4. I'll ask tomorrow.
  11. With the 10" bar on it. I think it could handle having a set of dogs on it to really push it on. I've asked the current owner if we can fit some to give it a try. Whereas I would hesitate to fit some to my little echo.
