I am going to talk nicely to Aldi I was in their store the whole time. I have a little bit of history re wheel clamp, petrol disc cutter. Apparently those big clamps cost £700.00
That sounds like a good story re disk cutter, please tell more

The great thing about Scotland is they are unenforceable in our country, not sure about Nigel land though
Totally agree, even although they will bombard you with very official looking demands they are all bollocks in Scotland, unless it is issued by Police or Council. Fairly certain I read about cases in England that ended in CCJ's getting issued though, so bit more risky in Englandshire.

I have a real intense dislike for thieves, so much so that I'm quite comfortable in taking things to a level which some would describe as pure evil.
Should they be caught I'd be happy to pop along with a packet of razor blades and a large bag of salt, I'll leave the rest to your collective imagination.
You are going to have a shave and then eat some chips
Only kidding
I hate the stealing scum.

Miner, last pit is about to close at Christmas.

That looked good.

Good pics, must admit I am finding it difficult pulling the trigger on game birds now, not shot any for 5 or 6 years.
While out walking with my dog yesterday she flushed a woodcock what a great looking bird they are as well.
Would still shoot a rabbit for my dinner though.

Hi ROY can I have some mate thanks Jon
Sure can, but might be a bit far for you to travel, Ayrshire is the location, but good of you to offer.

I remember they did hedgehog flavour crisps, what happened to those?
Maybe if there was more of a demand for hedgehog crisps they would start battery farming them so increasing the numbers.
Although I dont think hedgehogs lay eggs so maybe the battery farming might not work.
Yeah you could get charged for that and put in a cell:biggrin:

Put some cat food in a "hedgehog feeding station" beside their new home, which is half a dozen bricks and a couple of slates for a roof, checked it earlier and something has had a little feed.
My wife has set up a trail cam outside the hog home so we will see if they have come out for a nosey or if they have gone for a winter sleep.
Thanks for the comments lads.

Just had to quickly make a hedgehog home as the local animal charity hospital were needing some rehomed so picked up a couple of them on the way home.
Found some off cut sarking boards and some leftover roofing felt and hey presto one hedgehog home.
Will post a pic soon of the hogs getting placed in their new home.

I'm impressed.

Are you going with a wood / coal burner inside, if so personally I would not go with a thatched roof, tooooo risky, seen a couple burnt down now. I know you can get spark arresters but for me it's nit worth it. I like slate roofs.
I would be interested to hear feedback on the solar slates or tiles that you can get.
Sounds like a good interesting project, good luck.

Mmm interesting, not used one of them before.
Cheers

No it is a flat blade, like a Chinese throwing star on steroid.

Got a FS450 with the 3 pointed blade of doom that my wife uses on a regular basis for whacking down the rushes.
Thanks scbk for the advice.

Even a 1.5 tonne machine with basic grapple would be a revelation? A weeks hire is way cheaper than you could ever imagine, use hardly any fuel and will end up the cheapest man on the job.
If you get one with expanding tracks it only needs 1metre to squeeze through.
Ask around local, someone will be running one.
Eddie.
Want one:biggrin: anyone got one 2nd hand for sale?

Would love an excavator and grapple, unfortunately I don't have that type of kit and trying to get that sort of kit where it is needed would to awkward but not impossible, ground is boggy and no clear paths through it for vehicles.
I do have chain saws, hand saws, bill hooks, machetes and plenty of old pallets.
Thanks guys and keep the comments coming.

Thanks Ashdown, good to know.
Once I cut the rhody down to just the main stump just sticking out of the ground I was going to drill it and inject glyphosate to try and slow future progress a bit.
Thanks again.

I had considered hiring a chipper but access through a bog would be a nightmare.
As for the pigs as much as I like them, ( have had a little dealing with pigs in the past) because I am sometimes away for 2,3 or 4 days at a time I would not like to leave the pigs unattended for that amount of time.
Cheers

As I have mentioned before most days in life I pull out two or three bits of rhody, but I have acres of the damn stuff and it is taking over, so roughly at the end of March a few of my mates are going to spend 2 or 3 days with me to rhody bash and try and make an impression on the stuff.
So a couple of questions, is this the best time of year to have the concentrated effort?
I have piles of old dead rhody lying about the place, but when I have the rhody bash there is going to be a huge volume of the stuff so will the freshly cut stuff burn if I get a bit of a fire going first with some pallets etc.?
I don't have a chipper.
Any other thoughts, suggestions?
Cheers guys

The disk cutter is something I would do that was why I was asking, doesn't sound immature at all to me, of course I am no benchmark
