You’ve collectively got until I’m out of the bath to get the imp joint. It’s a lovely bit of trivia.

Does that mean I wasn’t correct in either of my guesses?

I have another couple of obscure car parts ready but I don’t want to hog all the guesses.

  2. Years ago I bought a Husky 281xp at MOD clearances, think the only hours on it was an annual service the thing was mint. However I didn’t get on with it, no decompressor on it and I had not long gone through 2 shoulder operations, to me the thing was a beast to pull over, I ended up selling it on eBay for a couple of hundred quid. Have to say it was a great saw and the bloke that came and bought it was built like a mountain so it was the right saw for him.

not as good as the motorhome owner who,, tired of thieves stealing his fuel, damaging the locked caps and cutting fuel lines to gain access to the fuel decided to put a petrol decal on the toilet waste tank cap and leave it without any lock, a week later comes out and finds the cap lying on the ground, a piece of hose hanging from the tank   and a trail of blue vomit and elsan fluid  200 yards long.

never had a problem after that.

Hehehe, heard that one as well, I do hope it is true.

I think you are right it's looking more like a blown head gasket on the right cylinder. It would appear from doing a bit of research online that you can still return a good com pression even with a blown gasket depending on where the gasket has failed. I'll take the head off and have a look. Thanks to everyone for your input.

Please keep us updated on what you find.

I bought a cheap KATSU Bench Drill Press recently that seemed to have two ON buttons, one of which you needed to keep pressed, so two handed operation.  Its now permanently cable tied on.

That’s mad, how are you supposed to hold your work piece when drilling if you need one hands to keep it switched on and one hand to operate the quill handle,

I was wondering about this, how long do you reckon they'd take to get down to the right content in a house? Currently the house is a building site so that' work fine, have about 3 months until I'm hoping to use them.

Thanks all for the useful info.

Just get them indoors into the house the now, the longer the better and the building work will probably carry on longer than expected anyway.

will your central be going on shortly. I was in a similar situation 4 or 5 years ago about 30 miles away from you and my timber was roughly sized as mentioned above then put into the house, I got quite a lot of movement once the heating came on, so I ended up leaving it until the late spring once the heating had done it’s winter job and was back off again. Glad I left it the extra 3 months.

Do you mean it looks like there is another one still in there?  My eyesight isn't the best these days.

Or did you mean on the zoomed picture?  that could be the shadow as it is pretty sunny at the moment so I put it on the window sill for the best light to get a picture.

Looks like you successfully removed two ticks at once, think a mummy and daddy tick were making little baby ticks. When I zoomed in on your tick pic it looks like one tick on top of the other. I found exactly the same on my dogs eye brow last week.

Well I spotted something behind my youngest son’s knee today.

Best be safe so I grabbed my phone to take picture and zoom in.

Bloody tick, the fancy snare type remover worked a charm.

got the head out and then wrapped it in bog role and cremated the little bastard.

Looks like a double tick there Rich

  9. Little tick buggers are out in force just now, I check my dog every night, 5 on her last night, 4 of which were bitten in and one was strolling about, it was 3 on her the night before. I had one bitten into me 2 weeks ago, I usually get one a year bitten into me, only ever had one that bullseyed and got a course of ABs for that.
