Was talking to a Polish guy I know . He is chef and works in a local private hospital . He is/was very fit and looks it also . He caught covid from his girlfriend ( she got a notification on the covid app on her phone )  he went down with it 3 days later .  This was a month or so ago and he still feels he has no energy . Whilst he had it he seemed to waver up and down . One day he would feel really shit , the next day he thought he was over the worst only to feel shit again a day later .  He is no longer infectious ( according to NHS guidlines ) but still suffering with sudden loss of energy . This I presume is " long covid " ?

This is how I “recovered” from Covid. Just walked the dog having felt no effects for about a week now and horrible tight chest again about half way round the walk. It’s not like I went that far only 3 k or so in total. I was allegedly not infectious on New Year’s Eve.

My insurance is up for renewal, stripped to basics coppicing / small felling with 1 million public liability - the broker has just said that that their prior prices cano no longer be even remotely matched and up goes the premium by just over 100 to just over 400. This probably is still reasonable, but is anyone paying much less?

I’d be getting more than £1M insurance.

even a small tree lands on someone could ruin their life and £1M won’t cover it if they are turned into a vegetable so to speak...

Screenshot of red tape requirements for retired doctors in order for them to administer the vaccine:

Is "preventing radicalisation" really a necessity for sticking a needle in someone's arm?

All that for retired doctors to stab some people in the arm?

    seems bloody insane to me!

Do you really believe Britain isn’t as corrupt as the EU?
That kind benevolent business will lift up the working man?
    Affordable housing?
    Healthcare, education?
Wait til there’s no minimum wage,
    Maximum working hours etc.

Have you ever heard of the strategic Russian strike ability?
Europe and America would be destroyed completely.
Russian would suffer 15-25% losses as the country is so vast, and there manufacturing spread out.

There it is. The state should be holding our hands through life.....

not for me thanks as predictable as it is sad. What happened to making your own way and luck in life?👎

Doesn’t anyone else see the immense stupidity and naive arrogance of brexit?
What do you think the Russians think about the breakup of the EU?

This is part of the problem. Millions of people chose to leave and people like you just end up calling them immensely stupid naive and arrogant.

which makes you at least 2 of your insults yourself in my humble opinion

I've been offered a BR350 for very similar price to the BR200 by my local dealer. I was initially just going to get the handheld BG86 but my dodgy neck would probably appreciate backpack rather than handheld. The smaller BR200 would probably do me fine but any disadvantage of going larger? I appreciate they're a bit heavier but it's strapped to my back and not using it for a whole day (c.1 acre plot, lots of deciduous trees and leaves).

Get the bigger one if price is near enough the same. More air flow means less time to do whatever your doing. That will more than compensate for a little extra weight.

I've just had a letter from the school saying if anyone in the class tests positive - the rest of the class have to self isolate for 2 weeks - but what if both parents work?! Lots of nice words [below] that say nothing - everyone uses political talk now to sound good - I'm surprised the word 'robust' has not been used - that has got to be the word of the year!

'This is an eventuality that we have been planning for, for several weeks and has become a
routine feature of the lives of many schools nationally. We are committed to supporting the
well being and anonymity of children and families concerned, and the welfare and education of
all. We are also mindful of the extra burdens and challenges this situation places on you as
families, and on our staff. I am grateful for your patience and support in these circumstances.'

What do you suggest they do instead? Genuine question. We have had a letter from school today along those lines except it was also saying a teacher has tested positive and kids in contact have been told to stay home, not sure what that means as it was the letter for parents of kids not directly affected.

Couldn’t post the link but I think the penny is finally dropping after over 7 months of trying to beat Mother Nature that maybe it ain’t gonna happen.
Currently sat here watching Sturgeon giving the latest set of restrictions and rules that have been devised behind closed doors and imposed without question. Reality is the arrogance of politicians to think they can defeat a virus with decrees and rules is staggering, I do get the feeling Mother Nature is gonna win this hands down as it has done in every other occasion, how many viruses have we actually eradicated over the years ??? ?‍♂️. This vaccine which will be a money spinner of unparalleled proportions looks to be a total rush job with a zero comeback deal on the table.
We have been brought up to expect longer and longer life expectancy and a firm belief that modern medicine can fix just about anything. Ie a pill for this and a pill for that, this misguided belief sustains a multi billion pound/dollar industry worldwide.

Too little too late I think. Cranky seems to have had some kind of breakdown I think. Going backwards isn’t helping anyone. I’m on the more cautious side but I do think we need to be left alone to choose what we do.

I’ve seen the video, I can’t see anything that you describe apart from a man standing on a balcony with a helicopter taking off in front of him. The recorded message made later clearly show a fast talking President with no shortage of breath or any ill effects, or have you seen something hiding in that too?

Different video I’ll try and find a link

So the Covid 19 suffering Donald Trump has just returned to the Whitehouse after three days, not out of breath and not a hair out of place, he has stated “Who knows, I may be immune”. Takes his mask off and walks into the Whitehouse where there are 30 staff, he has told them that he doesn’t want anyone to wear a mask in his presence, no quarantine necessary.

    So, the question is,
1)Has he actually had Covid 19?or

2)Is Covid 19 not a serious virus for the majority of the population to even worry about?

Have you seen the video of him on the balcony struggling to breath and trying to hide it. I reckon he’s got it and isn’t well but bullied his way back “home”

I reckon another major contributing factor is the poor quality of our housing too.

Having small, badly ventilated houses on minute plots, crammed into badly planned housing estates like battery hen cages in a chicken shed means that staying at home and not going mad is much harder. How was a person meant to maintain a modicum of sanity when confined to a 2 up, 2 down with a postage stamp for a garden?

We also really need to address the societal issues with preventable, first world comorbidities. There is almost no excuse for being seriously overweight, and the health conditions that come with it. It is unreasonable to rely on a national health service to treat the illnesses caused by your inability to stop putting food in your mouth.

In short, as a society, we need to be a bit more active, eat a bit less and endevour to build better, healthier houses. Also, it would be good if we weren't such pissheads and moderated our binge drinking tendencies. And Scotland needs to discover vegetables beyond the humble spud! ?

Can you get bad roads in too somehow pleas? don’t disagree with crappy housing ?

How the hell can someone get a gun into a police holding centre?

A police officer has been shot dead by a suspect being booked into custody at a south London police station. The...

I read that he wasn’t searched due to the current environment of police being scared of being labelled racist. Presumably the shooter was from a minority group.

This is where it fell down for me, my mate died in hospital a few weeks back. We were in n out of there with all sorts of BS excuses, "we've brought him some fresh underwear", "he needs his phone charger", any old bollox to get in there. Not once were we asked/told to wear a face covering.

So your blaming the hospital for your self confessed bullshit?

I think you've missed the point, 'we' pay for these services and they aren't upto scratch. And no I don't worry about being stopped by the police, I've nothing to hide.

If that’s all you have to worry about it’s not a bad life! First world problem......
