  1. I'm new here, and only joined for a bit of advice, but couldn't not reply to this thread. I wish I could think of something to say that might help, but realise I can't. My thoughts are with you and your family tonight. Best wishes.

    Kind of obvious really.

How do you find time to swim on the same day you have a crane on hire?
  4. I joined the forum a few days ago to get some opinions on a couple of trees in our woods (you may have seen my 'trees holding hands thread'). The info I received from members here was very useful, and I'd be happy to give something back to the forum. As a marketing strategy consultant I'm sure I could give anyone who needs it a few pointers regarding web design or other marketing communications. Let me know if you have any questions.
  5. Even if you work just as many hours, working for yourself is infinitely more rewarding. Best of luck with your new venture.
  6. Going self employed and looking forward to working less hours? I think you might have a shock coming.
  7. Thanks lads. Although it seems less rare than I would have thought, it seems to be a pretty good example (compared to the pictures on the Wiki link). I think it would be a shame to cut them down if not necessary. Can someone please tell me what species of tree they are?
  8. Thanks mate, that's useful info. I have no intention of taking them down if this isn't something that happens all the time. That's really why I signed up here, to get a few educated opinions. They aren't really in an area where they would pose any real risk to anyone. They aren't near a footpath or anything like that.
  9. Hi Guys, Just signed up to get some thoughts on a couple of trees I've found. Please forgive me if this post goes horribly wrong, maybe trying to add a photo to my first ever post will prove to be a bad idea. As the title, the kids are guessing that the trees are simply holding hands. I would ideally like to remove the trees, as they are in an area I had earmarked for something else. However, I'd just like to know if this is common, and why it happens, before I decide whether to remove or not.

About

Arbtalk.co.uk is a hub for the arboriculture industry in the UK.
If you're just starting out and you need business, equipment, tech or training support you're in the right place.  If you've done it, made it, got a van load of oily t-shirts and have decided to give something back by sharing your knowledge or wisdom,  then you're welcome too.
If you would like to contribute to making this industry more effective and safe then welcome.
Just like a living tree, it'll always be a work in progress.
Please have a look around, sign up, share and contribute the best you have.

See you inside.
