  1. Ye that had me hesitating on it for a while. Just figured I will get one fabricated when I have had it pay it's way. Got chatting to someone who has already done that with his MDL chipper and works a treat. But I agree it's not ideal as is.
  2. Ye, even I have been kicking around these forums long enough to not expect much else. I don't know what came over me. I got the MDL Powerup 15hp. Was pretty impressed with the look of it when I went to have a look compared to other chippers in that low budget range.
  3. Fair play, you are right. They can do what they want for sure. It just seems to go round in circles.
  4. Getting into these heated discussions on a public forum of 'mine is better than yours' and copyright arguments etc. can not be doing your company image any good. But thanks to all the useful posts on here that resulted in me finally joining the club earlier this week.
  5. Any one got any views or feedback on the MDL Powerup chipper? Not going to be used full time, just first chipper to get me going. Seems well priced and the company is not too far away from me. Budget won't stretch to CS100 or JO Beau sadly. https://www.mdlpowerup.com/product/15hp-towable-petrol-chipper/

    .

They seem a tad pricey. Why not find a local supplier and order through them, lower carbon footprint then this 'free delivery UK wide'.
  7. Thanks Saul, I will get in touch when I have confirmation of the job. Still waiting on TPO application and don't want to waste your time if nothing comes of it.
  8. May have the job of removing a mature cedar in Ilkley, Yorkshire. Would you be interested Rough Hewn?
  9. I'm doing it through HCC also. One thing I have come to realise is not to get to involved in the notes they provide and do my own research. Not too impressed with the tutor system they have so far to be honest.
  10. Where abouts in Yorkshire are you? I may have a job coming up removing a large Cedar, would be a shame to send it for firewood.
  11. I am currently slowly working my way through the course as well. I get most of the theory without too much hassle so far, I just have problems with what it is they are asking for a lot of the time with daft worded questions. Who are you doing the course with?
  12. yes to felling bar, if you have wedges then take them along but I wouldn't expect to need them. and they will tell you what to look out for during assessment. Enjoy
  13. I have been doing the same for the last week...although I am still non the wiser on what chipper best suits my situation haha!
  14. Perfect! Thanks very much Steve much appreciated. Is the tip directory part of the site/app still under construction or did i need to do more snooping around on the site to find it?
  15. Did anything come of this? Pretty keen on trying to find somewhere to tip near Skipton, N Yorkshire and a directory of sorts would be handy.
