  1. Nice big hairy Sitka on a Monday. Always a great way to start the week 😏
  2. Does the c stand for m-tronic like my 362c?
  3. Hahaha 😂😂 Now I feel overweight though 😳
  4. Why not just leave it on? Pretty convinced that it was resin that was holding my last saw together 😳
  5. Stripped it down at lunchtime and found the problem. He'd had the exhaust off to free up some starting cord stuck in the exhaust port. He didn't put the exhaust gasket back in and it was left rattling about. He got off pretty lucky with only damaging the flywheel I reckon.
  6. One of the climbers I work with sometimes was using his saw up a tree today when it started making a racket. He came out the tree took the starter casing off and all the flywheel fins apart from 3 were off. Some of them are jammed in the side of the cylinder. Anyone else had this happen to them or know of it happening? Cheers
  7. Give it a go with a 4lb club hammer if you want. See how it goes 😉
  8. Undo the nut till it's flush with the crank, hold the saw up by the fly wheel with your fingers and give it a sharp smack with a mallet or something similar. I used a copper hammer. A screwdriver or something wedged behind the wheel would be handy too.
  9. Update..... The 044 tank fits. Just got to source some bits and pieces that are missing. The choke lever being one of them 😏
  10. Thanks chaps. I appreciate it 👍
  11. Thanks spud. Definitely not the decomp valve and the seals went in nicely. It was much easier to take the old ones out and put new ones in than I thought it was going to be. I'll go for a new impulse line and manifold next. They're old and will probably need replaced anyway. Aye the good guy at the local fixers said he'll pressure and vac test it for me if I'm still having problems.
  12. Haha oops. Sorry. Kids were talking to me at the same time. Bolts!! I meant bolts. 😳
  13. So I pulled an old 440 out the shed the other day and put new crank seals in it. I didn't think this would solve the problem and it hasn't. It's racing on and then dying after revving. I haven't checked the manifold and impulse line yet but should that be my next port of call. Oh, cylinder head bearings are tight.
