Just replaced mine a couple of weeks back. Got proper Distel ones from FR Jones. Need a big torx driver for the bolts.

Yes I'm passing it all the time, watch this space 🤣 Is the pinhole borer any risk? there's a lot of it?
-
Great, interesting article. Many thanks

Any thoughts on this fungus ID? On oak, SE England, and there's lots of possibly pin hole borer Frass all around the base. One side of the fence is a school, other side a busy park so could important!
-
There is also honey fungus in the vicinity which is causing some dieback of the oak crown
-
I've noticed that narrow leaved seems to be resistant too. Let's keep our fingers crossed for them!

I'm struggling to find Echo chains. I need to know how many drive links the 10 inch bar has? It's 043 1/4 inch but not sure drive links. Panther bar is 56 drive links but this is the echo bar which is a different shape. 10 inch Stihl 150 has 57 drive links. Help please ?

How worried about it would you be. Tree is pretty big, by a road and houses. It's been reduced some years ago with approx 15ft of regrowth.

After some help on this please. Think innonotus hispidus. Also significance on this very big old oak? There were 2 brackets deep in the hollow circled and also evidence on the other side near the arrow. sounding test on buttress roots didn't cause any concern, they seemed solid.

Anyone with a Picus near Kent who could test this beech please? Also any thoughts on management? It's by a road but a lot of the roots are still intact. Conveniently you can see most of them! There's 2 brackets, both quite large now. Have been monitoring for several years but this year they have really grown! Tia
