Regularly change the oil and the final drives would outlast the machine - don't, and you know the rest.
Same goes for your truck diff.
I have regularly changed oil but Seals went and soil entered, my fault I should of got seals done straight away , machine is 18 years old but very clean for its age .I have owned it for 10 years .

We have a few Big Hydraulic outlets here but they won't touch Track motors , I have Phoned half dozen Specialists up and the cheapest is £1400 up to 2k .
My Kobelco is only a 2 ton machine .

Evening Folks , has anyone attempted to repair or Rebuild a Track or Final drive motor on a mini digger .
My Kobelco has decided to spew the Drive making Hell of a racket, sounds like the half shaft stripping.
Drive motor is off and on bench at the moment, have removed the pump and there is needle bearings floating about too !
Looking fairly terminal at moment and have priced a New unit up @ £1400 .?

Whats the secret to getting Beech to spalt like that? I have a decent size stick of it wondered how long I need to leave it.
Has Stephen said above , this Tree was in Decline and parted company from the main Trunk .
I have milled other Healthier parts of the Tree and hardly any Spalt showing .

Time on my hands at the moment and needed a more powerful splitter , having seen others and tried I was disapointed with there power and prices.
So I gathered all my scrap metal and hey ho .
£60 for Ram
£35 for valve and 100 notes for the pipes and fitting I had .
I fitted it to my Saw bench and some will say ....should be on the other side , not for me has I mainly splitting rings and no Cord lengths.
Secondly nothing strong enough on the right side.
Works a treat and I reckon 15t all day .

I have met quite a few Home oweners or Log Goblins last year with missing fingers etc through splitting loģs . Amazingly most are not put off by there injuries and still hunting for wood to save pennies .

Hello all,
Your help would be appreciated!!
Me and my mate are going to sell firewood. We have a small yard where we are allowed to store a container. We could buy in a lose loads of kiln dried firewood and we could buy a small loader or skid steer and put it into the container and then we could by a tipping trailer and load them into the trailer when we sell them. This means we could tip on the persons drive etc.
The other option is we could buy in creates and using a pallet truck we could put them into the container. My Dad has a truck with a tail lift on and when the customer places an order we could put it into the truck and then unload it using a pallet truck. With this method the customer would have to have a solid drive.
Another option is to buy it lose and then load it into tonne bags and unload by dragging off a normal trailer.
I Hope this all makes seance and please comment on it.
Many thanks.
There is a lot of misconception about selling firewood , if you are thinking about starting up and with a Business Partner then you will both be Busking at the weekend to make ends meet .

Hi, common problem and the clamp is useless on mine and just broke it this morning again .
I had to rope the battery end to me tow bar and pull it out ..clean it up and a tiny touch of WD .
My has has warranty work over the stupid clamp but that was 3 years ago and clamp is not worth a toss , great machine let down by a bad design .

I have a piece of Elm similar size on flea bay at moment , starting bid at £30 .
If I don't get that at least it's not worth the hassle .
I Am very disappointed with milling responses and think it's a very limited market .

had the new echo 501 a week now and up until today was not impressed although i am an echo fan . the saw felt really sluggish so after 4 fills turned the high and low setting in a bit but still no real gains . i had already took the screen off the exhaust so then took the silly tube out of exhaust and opened the outer exhaust cover up a bit . went back to standard settings and what a difference . instant pickup and lots more revs and power .this saw is strangled by the exhaust settup from new .if you own one and have not done this you are not getting this saw at its best . why would echo make a cracker and then strangle it so much . the difference after spending 5 mins on it is simply amazing
4 fills !!! Mine is Great but not till after 10 plus tanks at least . Great saw and very responsive.

I have been using a 22hp Yanmar and a 6ft flemmig finishing mower on Turf tyres for over 7 years now on large area ie footy pitch, Housing estate greens and paddocks .
Simple setup and cheap to run and easily paid for itself in no time at all and great results cutting fortnightly religiously.
Prices are vary and would not dream of investing large amounts for grass .
Example these 2 pictures I cut on a Residents housing estate and take hour and half and little plot to one side. £35 hour

Most of the wee chippers out there have a 5 degree sharpen on the back of the blades which for most Lawnmower dealers cant accommodate.

That looks great, what you got planned for it?
I got two 4" planks from it , a good friend is taking one for a Mantle piece built into the wall .
The other i shall sit on while .
I hate seeing trunks cut up for firewood and would rather mill them just for the experience and seeing the lovely grain .
Am doing more milling over the Christmas hols and will be planing some others that have dried out .
