  2. Cheers, yeah nice to see the sun. Was definatly a busy day on the ground, we where a man down. But no tidy up for the time being as too wet too access. Ta
  3. Thanks for the comments. Was a good fun job, part of a couple weeks of dismantles at a quarry. Im glad it wasnt windy as the pops where only 50 years old. Was cool to get a line in with Andrews air cannon, saved spiking past the kink in the main stem, but soon ran out of rope for a base tie. Cheers
  4. Cheers, the first song is a toots remix
  5. Cheers, was another case of armillaria, found mycelium high up on the main stem and was alot of decay in the base. Its a shame to see alot of them dieing but good fun dismantles.
  6. Cheers Silky, was cool to get a camera on the hook, have some more footage that Colin took and some photos so will try yo get that yp soon 👍
  7. Hi Carlos, yeah was great fun, rare for us to get a large free fall dismantle. All the brash was windrowed and timber left long as habitat.
  8. Cheers Al, yeah was a fair size ash, and good fun, once there was some out the top : ) There was no scope for a crane in terms of access, and no need as there where no targets to worry about. But would have been fun if justified.
  9. Cheers, would recommend the rench, great for spiking up a pole, as You can tend your main line with a foot ascender leaving your hand free 👍
  10. Hi David, thought you might be interested to know, was having a look in the log yard at the sections of hollow beech and there is fruit bodies of Pholiota aurivella, we have also found these on sections of timber from another beech we recently took down with decay higher in the main stem.
  11. Hi David, thanks. There were visual signs of a large longitudinal crack in the main stem of the oak. But the removal was not a recommendation, the customer was adamant they came out. Cheers
  12. Alright, yep its the kernmastet, lovely rope, nice and slim and very light, sounds silly but i do notice the difference in weight.
  13. Yep works great. Only a minor issue not being mid line attachable just a little more time setting up. Cheers
  14. An oak and ash we dismantled last week, the timber trailer saved some work the second day 👍
  15. Hi, just wondering if anyone has been using a hitch with the kernmaster and rope wrench, been using the zig zag but looking to experiment with cordage and hitches, any sugestions? Cheers
  16. Hi i've always found an oval carabiner works well for attachment to the bridge of your harness / ring. As the lockjack sits in the center of the karabiner keeping it correctly aligned, also something like a "beal pinch" may be handy to prevent cross loading. But most importantly make sure the wooden ball on the lockjack cannot fit inside the krab. Good luck with it. Sam
  17. Ha, probably didnt make much sense. Was just wondering about the system you set up with the blue rope
  18. Some handy techniques, where u using a double rope system as a retrivable srt anchor?
