Thing is, I don't spend all day in the woods and am generally out with the dogs so any squirrels are scared away. I'd shoot them given the chance - toying with the idea of thermal -
If it's wet, it'll grow.

Don't seem to be available any more. Nothing in my live traps this morning -
My well established willow fedge needed a trim and with a fraction of the trimmings, I planted another one, which will block our neighbour's view when we are swimming in the pond. All the osier came from one particularly vigorous plant next door to my old house. Going to let the remaining rods dry to use as kindling, unless I can convince someone to take them

I've had brilliant amounts of logs through the tip site directory but they all need a lot of processing and if I factored my time in, it is simply not worth it when you can buy loads of seasoned logs. However, I enjoy processing the bits and have space. Not had any for some time, mind, but maybe the log prices have increased so people are keeping them

I use live capture traps baited with peanuts and administer the coup de grace with a BSA Meteor -

If I felled all the damaged ones, it would be clear fell! It's so upsetting to see the damage. A decsde down the drain -

Well they turned up today on a very damp and cold morning. Showed them what I'd done and talked about what I was proposing to do. He said the squirrel damage was the worst he'd seen for a long time. I've trapped 3 so far but I fear it's the tip of the iceberg. They're granting me a thinning licence 🙂 -

I rate leylandii as pretty high. A lot of mine was left outside where the rain washed the sticky resin off and the wind turned it grey. The branch wood is especially dense
