    Hi,

Im trying to get an A60 engine back together, but Im struggling to find any workshop manual/ information relating to torque settings and tappit adjustment etc...

    Can anyone here help please.....

(otherwise I may end up with a number of very expensive  novelty paperweights to put on ebay)!

Hello , I have some information regarding your engine

  2. Thanks Tom, i currently have a worn out set of crossplys , i used to mostly do firewood thinning on local estates but after a change in business direction i find myself doing a combination of arb clearance, small tree/scrub clearance and winching ,which in turn means a lot more road travel. So perhaps as you suggested radials would be better, having not run on these before i was just concerned about the sidewall flexing at full reach with the roof mount.

    Thanks Nick.

  3. Hello ,I'm after some advice on replacement tyres for a valtra 6400 with a botex 560tl roof mounted crane .

Talked to a couple of suppliers and had conflicting opinions, I was under the impression that crossply was better due to the loading on the sidewalls and better resistance to damage, but I have also been told about a 14 ply radial tyre that has a higher load rating.......now confused !!

    Any ideas ?

  4. The decision has been made and I went for the Jensen a530 with 513 hrs on the clock. Picked it up Monday and I couldn't he happier with it, will certainly do everything I need it to and side by side with the gm150 it was a no brainer. The Jensen is far better built with a fly wheel half as big again as the one in the gm and out of the test wood we put through them there was one the gm simply wouldn't take no matter how it was orientated, the Jensen on the other hand didn't even realise there was a fork in it haha

Sent from my SM-G920F using Arbtalk mobile app

Good choice I have an ancient (1995 I think) jensen A521 and it still comes out and earns a shilling . I have had very few problems with it just fuel lift pump (wore out the camb) starter motor replacement again worn out and heater plugs X2 sets . AND OBVIOUSLY the usual wear and tear blades and rollers re-ground etc

But all in a bullet proof machine with an exellent kubota engine

I never put anything bigger than 4 inch through it no point stressing it and any thing over 4 inches is loggable.

Oh and regular oil changes , important on any engine.

GOOD LUCK WITH IT in my opinion a good choice.

    Nick

  5. Fed up with using standard drill to drill large holes in steel and trying to brake wrist every time so going to invest in mag drill, anyone use a Evolution mag drill half the price of others on the market.

Go for a rota broach mag drill exellent bit of kit that will take a battering.

  6. I'm looking for a contractor who will be confident they can pull some beech trees over that lean slightly towards a lake.

The trees are generally 20m tall and are fully mature. The client has 6-8 of them that need felling and they can't be dropped in the lake as it's recently been dredged. Anyone think it can be achieved?

    I'd appreciate any thoughts.

    Thanks, Nick.

Hello I have a 9 ton farmi remote winch on a valtra roof mount and I am near Shaftesbury. I do forestry contracting and I haven't come across anything I can't pull with pulley blocking or increasing the height of pull etc. If you need a hand for a day can you send me your number and will ring you because it takes me ages to type messages. Thanks nick.

  7. Hi all Happy New Year everyone. I'm thinking of putting my Holder A55f tractor/skidder up for sale. Not sure what its worth. I'm looking for a bigger machine. What have people got? Please PM me. Just trying to sort out how much money I've got in the kitty.

How much ? What hours ? Etc

  8. Recent experience with Adrian Flux

Two vans insured with them. On insuring the 2nd van they asked for documents “photo copy of photocard driving licence & proof of address”. Not a big issue although they should have this on file from my sprinter van which they insure. So sent a scanned copy of a bank letter and my photocard driving licence. A few days pass, email arrives “We still required copies of your photocard driving licence and proof of address”

Phone them up to see what’s happening apparently a dated letter from the bank isn’t enough proof of address despite the fact that the addresses on the photo card licence and bank letter match so send them an email with photocopy of a letter from HMRC addressed to myself. That’s all they asked for.

3rd email now arrives “Documents required!! Driving licence check codes photocopy of reverse of driving licence.

All the above and bearing in mind I already have a vehicle with them, never had points or convictions.

Has anyone had else had similar experiences from this company? or ever been asked for Driving licence check codes which you have to get from the DVLA??

You wait until you have to try to claim for a stolen vehicle, you will be lucky to receive 70% of the value (of you vehicle) you based your policy on even though they openly admit they cannot purchase a similar vehicle for the reduced sum of money they are willing to pay out (even though they accepted your valuation of the vehicle at the beginning of the quote and based their policy upon this value)....left us (a young couple with a 1 yr old child) without a vehicle for 10 months until I could afford to replace it. ...... adrian flux = shits.

  9. Hi all

I'm looking at fencing off a corner of paddock with horses on the other side. I'd like to use SC so it'll last, but a fencing chap wondered if the horses would chew the SC posts? He knows they won't eat creosoted posts, but I'm not convinced modern creosote will last as long as SC. There will be a single strand of barbed wire along the top, but I imagine if horses want to chew the posts they'll find a way! Do horses find SC tasty?

    Cheers.

My sisters horses have chewed the chestnut posts we put in ,I have creosoted them now and it has solved the problem.

  10. Wot ever type of 'ologist' it's all the same to me.

But old experienced folk that have been working with the local land, esp if involved with agri and draining will have came across this before if its common in that area and be able to give u a good indication from there experience if its easy fixable or not.

I'd imagine farmers would not want them in the middle of there best silage/arabe fields if they can help it

I'd i'd bet it would not involve many scientific words either

I'd imagine most would come out to look at the job and give u a free quote anyway where u can pick there brains.

If still not happy get an 'ologist' involved but i bet u will be 500 quid lighter before they have said an awful lot

It wouldn't have cost him anything to talk to Helen who would have explained what it is that he is likely to be dealing with ,sadly he didn't bother to call her,but then he obviously doesn't believe in an "ology " judging by his post of an "ology"

If he wanted a detailed geological report of the site and cause of the ground conditions this would cost him, but only 300 pounds, and it could have been the answer to solving an ongoing problem that others have failed to resolve ,which makes you look good to your client and could lead to more work on neighbouring estates. Never mind we all do things differently. NIck
