  1. In my opinion its a risky strategy relying on invoices to pay staff. Im owed thousands by companies that have 30 day accounts that turn into 60 day, 90 day etc etc. Try a start up loan.
  2. That was truly horrifying.
  3. We have a couple of big projects on at the moment and are looking for an experienced climber for day work sporadically. We are based near Dartford If your looking to fill in odd days in a diary then pm me or contact me through tree surgeon tree surgery tree care stump grinding maintenance bexley welling bexleyheath sidcup dartford kent essex
  4. Used chipper? Look no further than Arborcut Forestry Equipment in Southampton. They are right next door to Redwoods. Robert is very customer friendly and personally backs every machine they sell. Give them a spin, you wont be disappointed.
  5. Try Robert at arborcut forestryequipment they offer warrenty on their recon machines and have a good range. Worth a google!
  6. You cant stop it blowing around and i wouldnt offer to clear it up if it was any further than next door but if there is a specific complaint its only 60 seconds with the blower. It must be annoying if you only swept the day before haha
  7. Hahaha, exactly what I was thinking Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  8. I pay my guys a day rate, I give them the work sheet / sheets and let them know how long it will take i.e I expect it done in a day or two days or whatever. They have a start time to be on site that is realistic and if they want to get coffee, eat, have a cigarette, go to the chippy then that is fine as long as the work is done within the number of days allocated. Its never failed to work for me. Tree work is not a business that employees can work 9-5, as an employer how would you feel if they left all the tidying up to do the following morning because they had "run out of time"? Its swings and roundabouts. I'm fair with them, the're fair with me the work gets done. It seems too many employers on here feel the need to rule with an iron fist, do you not trust your staff? In which case should you be employing those staff?
  9. You guys are great! Haha. I'll get that washer. Thanks, and like you armchairarborist i dug a nice bit of garden string out of mine.
  10. I agree Smart seem to be a really up and coming company and take customer service very seriously Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  11. You'll simply spend the rest of your life pulling wire out of the gap between the flywheel and bearings replacing mangled blades and bending various bits of it back into shape. Many people seem to take the attitude that once they have paid the hire its theirs to abuse and yours to repair Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  12. The bottom roller on my 2006 TW190 as you look into the hopper has moved about 5mm to the left (ie towards the hydraulic motor) and started grinding itself into the slide box, I grease it every week and there isn't any play in it from what I can't tell without stripping it. Any ideas on what might be going wrong? I'm concerned its going to chew its way through the side of the intake. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  13. The bark is green and the buds light brown Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  14. It was the buds in groups of three that threw me and the brown terminal buds with 6 fissures on each one. The overall habit of the trees looked ash like to me though Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
