  4. Hi Dan hope you’re well? yes you would have met us at the 2016 APF, glad to hear you got sorted ok yes the chippers were yellow and branded Haecksler then, we were the UK distributor at that time up to 2015/2016 all of Haecksler’s chippers (H3 model) were manufactured and supplied by the same company who still make our Foxwood chippers now.. around 2016/2017 Haecksler got another chipper (H4) produced by a different company (don’t know where or what country) but we were not happy with the quality on the H4 so decided to drop the brand, especially when they told us they weren’t able to supply the H3 model anymore, which we knew were bulletproof… shortly after we were contacted by the original manufacturer of the H3 who had seen our haecksler adverts online - I flew to Slovakia, had a nice long weekend taking in the sights of Bratislava… went to see the team at the manufacturing plant and the rest is history, things are really going well with Foxwood we have several new models in development right now including a tracked model and a Stumpgrinder, and we’re getting a decent following from some proper people. we will be at the APF later this year - we are also Ventrac dealers so we’ve gone for a 40 metre stand which we’ll share with Ventrac UK, there’s going to be live demonstrations of Foxwood and Ventrac products with plenty of attachment’s on show maybe I’ll see you there? regards Jim
  5. Hello Chaps, He's not the dealer/distributor.. I am - we sent some spare parts out to this customer this week and he told me how pleased he was with the chipper, I politely asked if he would share that with others and suggested this as a good platform to do so... Thanks George you're a star! I'm Jim Upson.. the UK distributor for Foxwood chippers Just to dispell any Myths... (and you're quite right to be sceptical and I grant you there are plenty of companies buying kit from china and rebranding it as european) thankfully some of us still have integrity and choose to sell quality over quantity. Foxwood chippers (branded Cronoss in Europe) are all made from scratch in Europe by the same Family business who originally designed and pioneered this style and shape of chipper in the 90's, (Europalt SRO in Slovakia) the Steel comes from Sweden, bearings belts and switches are all EU made premium quality brands over the years they have built chippers for various companies who have sold them throughout Europe and the UK, Some parts are made in Austria some in Slovakia, hence Austrian slovakian border... Bearings are all SKF (best you can get) - belts are Optibelt red power which never give up.. At Foxwood we are only interested in selling high quality machinery, and we garuantee that anything you purchase from us will be a professional grade industrial machine I'm not sure if you are working for GTM or one of the other wannabe rivals but you seem to be full of negativity for some reason.. If I'm wrong and you are just a regular person - might be an idea to take 5 minutes to think before commenting on some of these posts until you've done your homework as it can be very misleading for genuine people looking for professional kit and also extremely damaging for our family business when we are actually trying to be one of the good guys here) You can look us up online, come down to Essex and meet us or see us at the APF you can even fly out to the factory in Slovakia and have a look but please refrain from spreading false rumours and infantile gossip about our products when you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about.... Pictures included showing the original prototype from the 90's myself and the MD of Europalt Thomas Miko at the factory in Jan 23 anyone reading this for the first time please do your own homework and make an informed decision, feel free to call me on 07836285541 or email [email protected] www.foxwoodpro.com regards Jim

  7. Fair play lads, everybody has got their preferences The Haecksler is not a 6" Chipper, but 3.5 - 4 inch no problem it is highly manoeuvrable and all round it has to be said its a quality bit of kit Horses for courses I suppose.... one does this slightly better, the other does that slightly better, it would be interesting to try all 3 out together at the pro arb show this year then discuss the finer points at the Bear in Esher over a couple of cold ones I agree the Jo beau and the Greenmech are both good machines. Have you seen the new H4 ? [ame] [/ame]
  8. It all depends what you're doing with it the disc or flywheel chippers are probably more abundant if youre doing any conifers or vines etc make sure you get a chipper where the disc is close to and parallel with the feed rollers I had a Bandit 90 for a while that had a 45 deg offset flywheel it was fantastic for eating whole trees very efficient with any sort of hard or softwoods all except conifer, it all balled up in the gap between the feed rollers and the flywheel I think a few of the larger American chippers are drum chippers now - certainly nothing wrong with them they seem to be just as efficient when processing material disc or drum I think its always the same with machinery... it's either works or it doesn't there is no middle ground. I've used some fantastic machines in my time and I've used some God awful ones too - who ever said a good workman never blames his tools - what a load of rubbish if you want a compact drum chipper these are pretty good [ame] [/ame]
  9. Afternoon Men have you tried a Haecksler Chipper? you can see them working on you tube - search for Haecksler vario just as good as a CS 100 but 2/3 the price
  10. Hi Wicklamulla Glad to hear you got yourselves a Haecksler, let me know what you think most people are surprised how well they work if anyone needs any more info I'm on 07836 285541 regards Jim
  11. I think I can shed some light on this for you - I've recently done some extensive research on this - we are the UK importers of the European Haecksler chippers, even though these chippers are made in Europe and CE marked we still wanted to double check the safety regulations for the UK I contacted HSE and BSI looking for legislation on compact drop feed chippers, I found plenty for power fed chippers but no specific guidelines for the CS100 or Haecksler type chippers except the BSI standards on safety guards and noise emissions and the broader covering PUWER regs I have learned however that if a machine is made in the EU and has a CE mark on it, and has an instruction manual in English then its legal and safe to sell and to use. any chipper is dangerous if you want to crawl inside it! The people you purchased the chipper from should be able to provide all the guidance you need - beware of anything from outside Europe - it could be fine..... but in order for the CE mark to be valid your supplier should have seen the evidence/research papers that support the Certificate or declaration of conformity, HSE has some good guidance for the use of chippers on their website there are extensive regs for power fed chippers, the link for this is below http://www.hse.gov.uk/pubns/ais38.pdf there are also regulations relating to safety guards on machinery, the in feed chute on a chipper is classed as a safety guard, the regs that cover this are available from BSI BS EN ISO 13857:2008 safety distances to prevent hazard zones being reached by upper and lower limbs - british standards institution These are just 2 of the regulations that Suppliers and Manufacturers are responsible for complying with, there are several more but its not really your responsibility to check these, they are liable if they supplied you the machine and its not safe providing you've got a risk assessment in place all the proper PPE and the machine was supplied by a reputable distributor then you should be fine, if in any doubt check with a local freelance health and safety advisor who will be able to advise you on your personal responsibility and where that ends. any more info you need feel free to call me on 07836 285541 or 01621 892907 regards Jim Upson
  12. Hi Guys when I heard about the wee chipper club I thought I'd better get in touch.... has anyone heard much about Haecksler vario chippers?
  13. there is a Chinese copy of these - not to be confused with the real thing the only Asian part of this chipper is the Honda engine - should be safe with that!
  14. Just reading some of the earlier posts - I've used these chippers extensively and they are very ergonomic - no exhaust fumes at all, easy to use and certainly quiet compared to a lot of other chippers
