  1. No accepted but how long will parts be available or you might buy one and have problems from day one .Educate me when buying a used saw what do you look for .Would you buy off eBay .What models of say 50cc Stihl and husky make a good used buy
  2. I ve seen guys on here saying they would rather buy a used Stihl or husky than a new saw from the lesser known make ,I find it hard to believe is better to buy a used saw which you have no history of than a new saw which you ve looked after from day one.

    Which oil

    I use a 2 stroke oil that meets or exceeds the spec in my chainsaw manual so hopefully can't go far wrong
  4. Well said working on farm it is very difficult with continuous heavy rainfall doesn't make me feel like getting up in the mornings when its dark and wet
  5. What's happened to the cold weather we were told was coming, I am so fed up of this heavy rain

  8. Hi I have a one shot container which I ve saved and when mixing I refill that with two stroke to a five litre of petrol .I ve never had any problems with any other saws I use with the Stihl 290 at work or my Makita at home.

  10. A neighbour has just given me one of these currently it won't start but I have seen him using it awhile back what should I look for also the primer bulb has smashed any ideas where I can get a replacement ? Many thanks.

  12. Exhaust the mix had a witham two stroke oil in it
  13. Its a oil we use in our Stihl at work I think its made by witham but I put some mix in that I use in my makita saw at home which is ryobi branded and it ran better so not sure whether its the oil
  14. Hi a quick question are McCullochs particular about their two stroke mix I put 50/1 mix in and it smokes and lacks power. Or could it be something else. Cheers
  15. Hi I be just got a Mccullock 486 off eBay but I need a new chain for it . I ve counted the drive links and there's 50 also stamped on the chain is 91 but I m not sure after that what chain I need to order so can you help me please ? The saw starts first pull and everything seems to work fine its just cut a piece of ash even though the chain is nearly worn out . Thanks for any help Ian
  16. Thanks but we have loads of poplar and willow so we looking for some better woods to mix in .
  17. Hi we are interested in Arb waste ,fallen trees or any suitable wood that can be salvaged for firewood . Willing to pay a fair price or work out a fair deal between both parties . Location Leicestershire and surrounding areas, we have access to lorries with hiabs and we are both used to safe working practice with one of us farm based and the other transport/site /plant based experience .   18. Hi guys we are interested in taking away arb waste that you guys don't want or are fed up of tripping over. We have access to lorries with hiabs for any bigger stuff but interested in the anything going soft and hardwood midlands area. Thanks guys
