  2. Here's a few pictures of the boiler burning different stages this morning. Took your advise and burnt small off cuts and kept them below the secondary air valves heaped it up in the middle. Better but still a bit smokey. What's your thoughts?

  6. Yea it's French beams felled probably two year ago however it's all been kiln dried
  7. Hi Duffryn Thanks for your input. When you say secondary air input are you talking about the two side boxes that the fan pushes air through? And then am I right in thinking that the primary air in put is the bigger box section running up the middle on the floor. Does anyone manage to burn these effectively without any smoke. It's quite odd some days it's smokes a lot and then others hardly not so much. Thanks Grant
  8. Thanks for your input. I'm burning kiln dried oak beam offcuts. Some days it smoke worse than others but even on the good days there always seem to be a constant small plume. Do you have a gf boiler yourself?

  16. We are in the process of sourcing a new mill. We currently have the Norwood HD36 and although it's a good mill it's not really quick enough or big enough for the way we're going. I've been looking at various makes and I'm curious on what other people's thoughts are. I'm wanting a 3phase fully hydraulic mill - have been looking at the woodmizers LT 70 but they are big money - has anyone got one of these? Also what's your thoughts on Trak met saws. Any advise is greatly appreciated Thanks Grant
