Hi everyone, I'm going to be moving up to Whitchurch in August and just wanted to put some feelers out there and try and get some work lined up ready for when we move. I currently live in Gloucestershire and have developed a really good relationship with several companies over the last few years. Unfortunately it's time for me to move onto somewhere better suited to myself and my partner and Shropshire is where we've chosen. I've been climbing and running teams full time for 5 years now. I've been self employed for 2 years and have spent that time getting to know the companies around me, showing them what I'm capable of doing and what my work ethic is like. I'm more than capable up a tree and am proficient in both reductions and takedowns big or small. I like to work to British standard and take an enormous amount of pride in the quality of work that I deliver and the pace that I'm able to deliver at. I'm not a super speedy climber but I do like to work quickly and efficiently whilst maintaining safe working practices. I come with all my own climbing and rigging kit, groundsaw and 2 top handles as well as CS 30,31,38,39 and 41, IPAF, chapter 8 and first aid at work. With everybody being super quiet right now I've got a few thursdays and fridays that I still need to fill over the next month or so. I've 4 years full time climbing experience with a background of 15 years rock climbing and mountaineering experience. Hi mate, the brummel splice is indeed as easy as in the video. There's a couple of different ways of doing g it depends ding in whether you've got easy access to the other end if the rope. Just make sure your measurements for the bury are right if it's going to be used for rigging. I spliced a pinto rig onto some teufelburger hollow braid to use as a Whoopi redirect and it took me about 5 minutes and has lasted really well. I think hollow braid is a good place to start with splicing and it's really simple with a selma set of fids and some tape. Best bet is to just give it a go. I think the teufelburger stuff I bought from honey bros was like £3 a meter and I only used 2m of it. Hope that helps.

There's no need to pretension for blocking down stems where the load is above your rigging block no. It's definitely useful for removing limbs though. Big lateral limb over a target, spiderweb the whole limb, pretension, gob in the side to swing it away from the target. Barely any drop in the limb and total control. I think pretensioning makes things safer and more controlled. Obviously it's not always necessary but it's definitely useful in a lot of situations. Our ropes are basically designed to hold a load in an almost static situation and lower to the ground, they're not designed for shock loading. Most of the time, if your groundies are good on the rope, they'll let the rope through the bollard as it gets loaded to extend the impact time as it were.

I find the cheapest option is a single prussick above your bollard with a pulley in it. Wrap a few wraps around the bollard and take the tail end through the pulley. The prussik then gets removed before lowering so it doesn't get in the way. I think pretensioning loads where the load is below your rigging point is a much safer, more controlled way if rigging. As mentioned above, our rigging lines aren't designed for big dynamic loads so the more tension you can take up the better for the rope and your rigging points too. The GRCS and SmartWinch do it perfectly but not many people have half a million quid sitting around doing nothing so a pulley and prussik it is for now.

Do those cam buckles not slip when you're at full stretch? I've not used them personally so don't know. Thanks for the feedback anyway guys!

So I put together a trigger and haul system for my bigshot a couple of years ago and recently as more and more people I work with are moving over to SRT I'm getting asked to put together triggers for other people. Just thiught I'd put a post out and see if anybody else would want one? I've kind of perfected it now and am getting them looking pretty tidy with stitching and what not so just thought I'd gauge interest. I've designed it so you can just slip it on and off the bottom of the pole and carry it separately and the only addition or modification you need to make to the bigshot itself is a bit of throwline tied in a loop on the handle of the pouch. Still looking to fill my diary for April. Willing to travel for a few days work at a time, ideally South Wales or Cheshire area. All own kit, saws and a CSCS card, not shy of hard work. Yeah I'm going to give them a ring tomorrow. As I said before. I don't doubt it's a good quality product, I'm just pissed that they're selling it as Oregon oil.

Yeah I did spot that but I copied the link to use in my original post and when I put it back in the browser, that's what it came up with. The description does say it's Rye Oils oil though, not the Oregon oil. Why use the picture of an Oregon product and the name of the product on the invoice if that's not what you're selling. Oregon weren't happy to hear about it when I asked them about it.

Here's another one for you Rye Oil. Now that you've changed the listing on Amazon, the price has gone from £55 with £4.08 postage, all the way up to £85 with free postage. If it is indeed your own brand oil as you say it is and as it says now on the listing, why is the same oil £46.88 on your website? Can you please offer some clarity on this please?

Also, surely this is rather misleading too.
