One last thing that was high up on my list when considering my options was price. A small tracked loader is almost half the price of an articulated wheel loader. If the OP is just starting out with mechanical help it is a much smaller step financially speaking.

Probably lifts about the same though.
-
Yours is certainly bigger than mine.

We can get our HB20 and our ditch witch in our tipping ifor together.
-
Cheaper, smaller, 0 turn, more pulling/pushing power for the size and easier to get on and off quickly. Horses for courses.

It was actually Spud, I was going to txt you a photo today.

One of ours did this today. It sounds properly offensive! -
Or one of the low hour recon 150ld's that Global get in periodically. Brilliant value and they are just in another league when it comes to chipping capacity, through put and build quality.

You can get it at 36 inch with narrow tracks or 42 with wider ones. I went for the wider ones for more stability. You can change but I have not found it to be an issue.

I thought I would post a few photos of our sk755 as they are not as common place as other machines out there doing tree work.
In my opinion it is an incredible machine for the price and Ditch Witch's customer service has been top notch. They have sorted a few tweaks that we wanted like the quarter inch plate at the front instead of a grill, a bollard for the quick attachment of ropes for pulling and the toe hitch. They really bent over backwards to sort out a demo and have been incredibly professional in all our dealings with them. They have also been very prompt when sorting parts as and when needed.

Would be nice in a tree though. It would surely need porting?

The 562 is a large bar mount hence the "wider" spacing for the clutch cover felling spike....It has more chip clearance due to this which is handy. On paper they ,560-562 , have the same specs but I own and run both and am sure the 562 is a stronger runner. The 562 is listed to run a 24" so stands to reason it's "chip" is a little stronger ? Also the larger air filter on the 562 must be accounted for on the 562's softwear. I have one stock 562 and two ported 562's, one 560 and one dead 560 !
The 562 actually has a max recommended bar length of 28"! [emoji15] that seems a bit large considering the 560 is 20"!

If you want to be held in high esteem by the public, become a nurse or a fireman, I've never understood this need for respect or appreciation by the man on the Clapham omnibus.
Dont work for the LAs
If you're not getting enough money, change what you do, or who you do it for, get tooled up, mechanise.
There's still good money in this, it's harder to get than 30 years ago, for sure.
True, I see a big difference in the type of work out there and the standard of service/ quality of the finished product. If you want your guys to be smart, polite and actually capable of undertaking an aerial rescue and then administering first aid to someone suffering from what could be severe trauma (that someone also could well be you) then you have to offer more than rock bottom pay.-

A while ago I was looking and brinkman engineering's old place was up for sale in Wingham.

Also, tracked machines work better in confined spaces, for their size lift more, are cheaper for their lifting capacity and simpler and more robust. We have a stack of boards that we take to turn on and as long as you plan your route the tracks have low ground pressure so the damage is minimal. Horses for courses really. Also we can get a HB20, our ditch witch on a 10x5 tipping trailer and have room for a couple of bulk bags of takings, that is pretty useful.

The ditch witch sk755 is very good as well, more power than a 725 and at a good price.

Thank you David, yes there are unfortunately, I will not be rigging off it that is for sure. There is a pool, two houses and a fence right next to it pretty much.

Is this correct or are the yellowy brackets old Perenniporia?
The tree is on its knees either way.
