After another chainsaw? Did you buy a cheap one before?

You may be better off asking that question in a new thread so people see the request. use it as the title.

Hi. I would guess about 4m3 in the pic. I collect and cut my own so unsure on cost. I am sure there are many on here that could give you a price. I also store cut disks ready to be split up the side of the garden with no cover. Looks better than the fence. The wood sap is the main concern not the rain on the side. If there is enough airflow it will dry off quickly.

How many slats you can take off will depend on the condition of the shed. Take as many as poss. If it gets a bit unstable you can put a few diagonal slats in to sure it up.

Wood stacked well will look better than a shed full of holes.
-
Put a pallet on the floor at allow the air to flow. If you are going to fill the shed with wood and dont care for the shed , you could remove everyother board across the back and take the door off. If the shed is long with the door on the narrow face it may still go mouldy. Another option if you have acess to the front and rear? Remove the front and back narrow sides, put a stud frame in the middle and make two stores. That way you can have wood drying and a store in use.

There is a fair bit of lime in there , I have never burnt lime anyone know how it burns ?
Very poor firewood, little heat and spits lots, very light when dry.

Joking aside its the only way to go Pat . Changed mine last year and its nothing short of staggering the extra heat ( and less dust ) I get now . Got a Burley 5kw and it heats the whole house
That rug looks like a dog!

My "adjusted" table splitter
Hi fonzy, how did fit the back bar to the valve? Is it fixed or it there an amount of play on the split pin.
-
They grind the same surface as the other chain grinders, but a lot cheaper.
The man on the vid has not got a clue about chainsaw's!
-
Only looks like it sharpens the top part o the tooth from that dogie vid!
They grind the same surface as the other chain grinders, but a lot cheaper.

Hi doo, I moded my splitter today to work on the right hand lever,I left the other side so i can use it two handed if i wished. What you do to your kit is up to you.
Remove the right arm, cut the plate (as in the picture. Red line) to remove the top "peg".
Cut away the box under the handle to let the bar travel further down.
Bend the hand guard so the handle is not fouled.
With the table of the splitter in the top position, trim the guard so it clears the table.
Done.
Took about 10 mins, small grinder, lump hammer, small hacksaw and a file.
AS I SAID , WHAT YOU DO TO YOUR OWN KIT IS UP TO YOU.
Please no lectures.

Get the file out ya bunch of whimps
This grinder can save on files as well as time. Good if you damage the chain and need to take off a bit more than norm.

HI BIKE theres no mole valley farmers in liverpool bid get it off there net then thanks jon
Yes jon, off the net, I was told at the time is was the cheapest place to buy and great service(and it was). Are you linked ?
-
I got one from Mole valley farmers and its great. Its good for grinding a chain thats hit a few nails etc but also the egde seens to last a bit longer, maybee a small amount of heat treatment (hardening) on the cutting egde. Well worth £20. Still need to set the height by hand.

The Mitox also comes with a 4 way wedge which is handy. However, buy an additional 4 way wedge as you will end up cannabilising the first one to create a wider wedge for normal splitting- their wedge (which the 4-way slots over) is nowhere near wide enough.
HTH
Hi doobin, I have just ordered the Handy Pro 7 electric splitter from Internet Gardener: Garden Furniture, BBQs and Outdoor Living at a very good price. I see from your earlier posts that you wanted to mod the splitter to be one handed? Did you do it and how? By cannabilising the wedge do you mean cutting the side wings of or something else. Any chance of any Pic's?

Short straps will work, but you will not be able to load the bags when they are hanging. If you make up two beams and hang the staps from them you could load the bags from the start. Could work better i think.
-
dont worry , i wont tell anyone.

I was told it depends on the saw. the larger pro saw run better on xp, i was recomended to use LS on my 345.

Where from?

Hi russ, I am not steering clear of clarke due to bad back up but due to the fact i think the vertical machine is the same engineering as the horizontal (which i have) and you cant change the pump if need be. i think the clarke machine is the smaller one and i want the bigger one. I like the fact on the larger machine you could in theory mod it to be a better machine in the future and fix issues easier.

I think the host is walnut, but not sure. What do you think? The pic is a small shoot next to the main tree. Same leaf pattern.
