  2. Hi Steve ... There is messages in your inbox mate 👍
  3. I thought I would try checkatrade and have been signed up since Sept 2015. To date I have had 2 ........ Yes a whole 2 inquires, first job was 20mile from my location, and to reduce a small conifer hedge days work for 2 at most, so went in quite reasonable with a £450 quote, lady seemed v happy and said she would ring me in a day or two as she had one more quote to receive from another checkatrade member. She said I don't think that they will beat your price though as the last time it was reduced it cost me £600 doh !! ...... Didn't hear anything so I decided to ring her about a week later and "oh sorry I was going to get back to you but the other checkatrade guy who come round said he could do it for £220 😱😱😱 Problem with Checkatrade is that our industry is too difficult for them to understand and vet properly ...all you need is :- 1 x NPTC chainsaw related certificate 1 x PL insurance document .... I don't think it would even matter if you had a 1m height restriction 10 x happy customer reports 1 x £800 yearly fee The guy who came round to "vet" me thought my main affiliation certificate was a NPTC cert !, alarm bells started ringing then and I should have pulled the plug. I'm sure some peeps do get work from being Checkatrade approved. technically you could short course your 4 main NPTC units in 1 month and be checkatrade approved the day after, as long as you had 10 mates that would write nice stuff about you ) Any way that's my experience of Checkatrade and when my membership comes up for renewal I will be using the money for a years green fees at my local course 👍
  4. I can understand your customers concern but as it historical damage, which has now been repaired ? they will have to back their application up with a report from qualified engineer, more ££ I know but your client will have to justify the trees removal with an experts report demonstrating what damage the rooting system is doing to the services. Oh and it's Sean btw
  5. Yeah I know mate, I attended a few of those workshops I'm not sure if that was my last or I may have attended just one more b4 Paul issued a restraining order for stalking 😂😂
  6. Was the direct damage to the drains/services the main reason in the application to fell ?
  7. I recently (last year) submitted an appeal against a refusal on the grounds of safety. I felt that I was justified in asking for 2 trees to be removed on a site that we manage, which the appointed TO unfortunately did not !. Ok appeals can take some time, but 10 months later the appointed inspector over turned the TO's decision and allowed the felling of the trees. The inspectors report shared my views, choosing condition of trees over amenity.....Sense sometimes prevails
  8. A comprehensive application followed by LA refusal..........wouldn't you rather go straight to PINS for appeal, instead of multiple applications, you will usually find their inspectors are highly experienced and qualified.
  9. I guess the washers only go on the outside of the wheels then ? How are you finding the trolley ? Mine is still in the lounge My kids are using it as a climbing frame 😂
  10. Yeah the linch pins are like R clips and only 2 large axial washers instead of 4 as pictured ? The same for you ?
  11. Has anyone bought a stein arbor trolley RC 4501 lately ?? , I only ask as the fittings kit supplied is different from the one detailed on the instructions.
  12. The new mk8 hilux has an option of 18" rims I believe 😉
