  1. Hi Ben. Thanks for that. I'll give that a go tomorrow instead. I can see how it would be a lot safer in case of a slip
  2. I think the biggest 2 have been the redirects and tie in points. I'm still swapping between a base anchor and tip at the top, preferring the top tip as there is less creep and sit back in the system. Latest one was when I realised I don't have to take the pin out to remove the rope. I found I've had the pin in backwards since I bought it. I had a few tries at LOTS to advance the RW and hitch but just couldn't find it comfortable. I found connecting my hand ascender/foot loop to the middle hole on the hitchclimber the easiest for me. Next step is experimenting with tethers I think.
  3. So after 2 weeks of reading and over 2100 posts I have finally finished reading this thread. I'd like to thank everyone for their contributions as I have used many of the tips and tricks whilst climbing over the last couple of weeks. I've been using the RW for the last few months but have found SRTWP so much easier lately. A big thanks to Ian for the thread and Kevin for the rope wrench
  4. Ally geckos. They're adjustable unlike the fixed carbon fibre ones. And quite a bit cheaper
  5. Sure is. Although I haven't been out of oz so not a lot to compare it to.
  6. Hey Tony, I have my own small business in west oz and then contract out to other companies as a climber on my off days.
  7. Too much. Last month was a big one. $1400 Aussie. Should be enough for a little while I hope.
  8. Hi Jon. He's the kind of guy that lives payday to payday so I knew there would be no way of getting any money out of him. Just had to cut my losses. My new groundie at least paid 2/3 of the 201t

  10. Hi Jon. Exactly. He called up almost crying for his job back but nothing going.
  11. Spot on. That was his last day. Lucky he wasn't in after it.
  12. I used to travel between jobs with my saws in the hopper of the chipper. When we went to dump the truck, he turned the chipper on to use the hydraulic jack and then decided to turn the rollers on so it goes faster. Bye bye saw. Haven't had much luck with groundies lately. A month ago I had to replace my ms200t with the 201 cause my new groundie left it on the wheel arch of the chipper before we took off.
  13. Can't go past my new ms660. Got it 6 months ago cause my groundie fed the last one through the chipper. Not quite unbreakable.
  14. You could try Steve Kneebone at classic tree services in Perth. He's always got a bit of consultancy going
