The gelet and such like are good as mosty waterproof but got same thing from mountain warehouse for about half the price, good quality too. They have lots off good on line deals at the moment.
The Gelert is about £30 is the cheapest I found. Ill have a look at mountain warehouse. :-)

Just to repeat above. You get what you pay for... Usually buy cheap buy twice.
Im no tree surgeon, but I've always know Stihl as the best, keep to what you know.
-
The 90L Gelert Expedition bags do seem good value. Yet to find one in a store to look at though.
-
Craigblues, you won't stop breathing if you don't have one but your life will be easier with less frustration and time wasted.
That's a fact.
Ha!
I will put it on the list of "ToDo's / ToBuy's" but spent way too much this month already on climbing gear so think I will hold off for this month.
So what equipment is needed, what poles are you chaps using?
-
Well now this is something that looks fun! Do I need it probably not but might make one anyhow, ha!
-
Where is it held?

Blimey! You must have a good throw. ha!

HI Joe And Craig
I have got something in the pipeline at the mo I have got a meeting with an estate manager in the next couple of weeks.
Not saying much at the mo just in case but if can sort it out it would be an awesome days climbing.watch this space.
Are there any of the lads of the climb going to the ARB SHOW? either camping or just for one of the days?
Sounds good to me!
-
So whens the next one! ha.

I have got a Stein Rope Bag so that's good, I do like that.
Just for all the other bits a pieces.
-
Army surplus bag? Hard wearin and cheap.
That's not a bad idea... Army Surplus store might be called into tomorrow.
I would like a Stein/Stihl branded bag but you pay through the nose for it.
-
Well this is a silly hobby/interest.... Well for my bank account anyhow, ha!
I seem to have already accumulated enough stuff that I now need a fairly size-able bag to store it all in. I considered using a Really Useful Box but not quite so easy to leave it in the boot as takes up quite a bit of room.
What does everyone else use, it sounds silly I know!
-
well there is here in the UK:001_tt2:
Is there?
-
Bulk of my climbing kit....
You have boxes of the stuff!!
-
I've bought a couple of lengths from him of the LSK rope 50m and 60m and it is fine. Good non-stretch rope and if you wait you can get it about half the price from a shop. Nothing to be afraid of.
Half price at the shop?
-
Mind my ignorance, I'm learning. When you say access rope are you referring to your climbing rope to initially access the tree?
-
=but the other week à brought some beeline and tied my own
When you say tied your own, you mean you just knotted it onto the binner?
-
That's it. I've decided!
I'm selling all my old toppers and buying one of these!
Ha! Too easily persuaded.
-
Which slings are best for rigging then?

Yes centrals splices are good. But there is plenty of top splicers on here who would appreciate the business. Just look at some of the works in the splicing threads and pm someone.
If happily give work to a forum member instead if references and experience were satisfactory. Who does it?

You wont be tieing it in an endless loop, unless you choose to.
You can tie a fishermans knot in each end making a piece of cord that has the same functionality as an E2E but is also adjustable and saves the pounds aswell.
I tried that this weekend. There seemed to be too much in the biner. And did look messy. I'm only a beginner so prob doing it wrong, ha.
-
Better of buying some beeline cord and tieing your own with à fishamans knot,
This will sound silly most likely but hey ho!
Can you use a prussik loop on a hitchclimber though? Or ideally a E2E?
-
Cheap Polypropylene Braided Rope it is then.
-
Old climbing line.
That's something I don't have.
