  1. Hi, You can tip your chip and logs with us for no charge. We are less than 5 miles from Alderley Edge. Our address is Tanyard Farm, Castle Mill Lane, Ashley, Cheshire, WA15 0QT. We are an arable farm with an expanding green waste side which we call Cheshire Green Waste. I can be contacted on 07535 025888 or [email protected] Please get in touch before you come down. Richard
  2. Yes, we are just round the corner from Ashley mowers. If you come to the farm we can tell you where the chip yard is. Richard
  3. Hi, We are a farm in Ashley, not far from Sale. We are fully EA permitted for green waste, chip etc. There is no charge for good quality chip and logs, but must be separated. Our address is Tanyard Farm, Castle Mill Lane, Ashley, Cheshire, WA15 0QT. We are open 8.30-5.00. I can be contacted on 07535 025888. Richard
  4. Thanks everyone for the advice. I probably would have left it but it is coming up between the flags next to the house so is looking a right mess. I agree, I think the key is getting through the waxy surface. What detergent could you use for that? Can you just add washing up liquid to a weed killer or is there a specific product?
  5. Thanks N. I have tried one of those gas canister garden burners. Burned off the top but then just seemed to grow through again. R
  6. Any idea what this weed is? Over the last 2 years it has slowly been taking over the yard (between cobbles and flags). Any idea what would kill it? Glyphosates don't touch it. Thanks.
  7. Hi, We are not too far away. We are a couple of miles from junction 6 of the M56. We are a working farm that is fully permitted by the EA for chip/green waste etc. Our chip goes to Stobarts. Email me on [email protected] Regards, Richard
  8. Hi, We are a farm about 10 minutes away from Manchester Airport. We are EA licensed to take woodchip/logs etc. You can email me at [email protected] Or call me on 07970 849822 Richard
  9. Hi Adam, I have recently asked a similar question. If you search for the PTO chipper thread you will see a lot of people gave helpful advice. I am interested in getting a TP now, probably a 250.
  10. We are in Cheshire so they are just up the M6. Thanks.
  11. So a TP 250, any ideas on a ball park figure for one second hand but in decent condition? And any recommendation for a dealer? Thanks everyone for your help.
  12. That's right. Anything big enough goes for logs. It is the smaller branches and brash that we struggle to deal with. Stobarts take a lot of woodchip off us for their biomass power stations. So if we can convert some of the smaller stuff into acceptable chip for them it would be great. Anything left we are permitted by the EA to compost. So by chipping these smaller branches and brash it should compost quicker/better.
  13. Thanks Tom. Probably a bit out of our price bracket. Anything decent for £10-15,000?
  14. Has anyone got any more thoughts on PTO chippers? We are a farm that does a healthy sideline in tree surgeon/green waste processing. We now need our own chipper and have a number of tractors that we can hook it up to - plenty of horse power. So what should I be considering? Probably going to APF, what should I have a look at there? Thanks.
