  1. Use mine for pruning, fencing, felling, hedge reduction etc. Not drilled the exhaust as its power is fine for what I need. More than paid for itself. Awesome piece of kit, does occasionally clog with sawdust and usually equates tank of fuel to tank of chain oil.

  2. Barry not sure if this telling how to suck eggs but its got some useful tips

Pavingexpert - AJ McCormack and Son - How to Lay Flags and Slabs

I always lay flags onto Mersey grit mix with cement. Put some straight onto red sand over soil for a small area and they haven't moved but they are the. Big old 3x2's and are fairly hefty. Red sand becomes fluid if too much water, rain and lighter flags may move so really to answer your question use red sand may = moving flags.

    Don't do the spots!!!!

    Hope this helps.

  3. Many thanks, love my Ariens it's a beast of a mower, or rather Ive put it through its paces over the last 2 years,so if the Weibeng does the same then game on. Where are you in North Wales(Gods Country!)

  4. Need a new mower as my Ariens is on its last legs. Was thinking about the Weibeng 3 in1 as it does the same as the Ariens, mulcher is really handy in the autumn for leaf collection.

Anyone got a Weibeng, anyone got any thoughts?

  5. Busy three lane roundabout with a hire van stopped in the middle lane - total chaos with cars swerving round him. Went round again, pulled in front, helped him find his towing eye and towed him off and on to the nearest garage. (He'd run out of fuel)

Tow all the neighbours off the street every time it snows.

Homeless chap outside sainsburys a while back. Gave him a few quid on the way in, then felt guilty as I was only buying (wasting money) on flowers for the wife, so bought some hot steak pies from the deli and gave them to him on the way out. And apologised because that was all they had at the time.

Oh, and climbed off a neighbouring balcony (knew this climbing lark would be useful), kicked a window in and rescued two young children from our neighbours flat after the lad put the chip pan on and fell asleep. The front doors were fire-doors and we couldn't smash through the bloody things. (Edit - This one doesn't really count as an act of kindness - more a case of necessity )

These are all big brownie points, hope you enjoyed the feeling of helping other people.

  6. Couple of months ago our young son was not sleeping well and he likes a drive through the woodland so we went for a drive. There was a young male in running gear sitting on the side of the road trying to wave cars down. We drove past at first due to his position on a blind bend but as I drove past it felt wrong so next opportunity to turn round we went back to check on him. Turned out he had slipped down a verge and badly sprained his foot. He only lived 2 miles up a steep hill so we helped him in an drove him home. He was very grateful. About a month later we were on our way shopping and a car was pulled up on the other side of the road with the bonnet up. A young Nigerian couple standing there jump leads in hand. Pulled up in front of them popped the bonnet and less than 1 min later we were back on route. Turns out the poor couple had been standing there for 45mins. How many people had driven passed them at 10am on a Sunday morning that could have spared one min of their day to jump a car is beyond me.

The important thing for me is that you counteracted all the negatives with your real kindness:001_smile:

  7. As I pulled in to the house tonight totally knackered there was a car in the bus lay by opposite. Put my gear away and noticed car still there. Walked over to see if they alright and they'd run out of of petrol. Lucky enough had been the garage and filled up a couple of cans ready for tomorrow. Used it fill them up and get them on their way. That's my brownie points for today hell yeah!:thumbup1:

  8. When on the small back roads, in an act of kindness i always pull over for other motorists, really i am saving my chipper from bouncing from pot hole to pot hole.

  12. Not work related but I was out on a night out about a month ago, it was about 3am and I was heading to the taxi rank. I passed a young-ish, probably between 18 & 22 year old girl sat on her lonesome on the ground looking rather upset. I knew she wasn't homeless by the way she was dressed. I approached her and asked if she was okay etc and she was hesitant/worried I was going to do something to her! Long story short, she told me the name of the hotel she was staying at but was about 25 min walk away, through the town full of drunks. I told her not to worry and kept her calm etc. I walked her to the taxi rank and told the taxi driver to divert and drop her off at the hotel and I would be happy to pay. I had no idea who she was, and will probably never see her again, but I just couldn't live with the thought of something happening to her :( Would have been terrible.

At least you went back and checked. :001_smile:

Good on ya for going to check:001_smile:

Great stuff. Mrs Mac and myself recently coming back from hol got talking to young French girl who was coming to Liverpool for exchange visit. Turned out she was staying with a family bout 10 miles out of city and in quite a dodgy part. If we changed our route home we could drive through where she was heading, so we did. It was quite late by the time we got there and it would have taken her an age, not only to find but several buses etc.

Felt really good and we knew we'd done the right thing. We always hope that when our sons are travelling that someone might do the same for them, if they got stuck.

  14. Girl stopped on country road

    Stopped and went toher

She locked herself in car and was terrified

Said she'd run out of petrol

Wouldn't even let me put enough in tank to get to garage

    Had to leave her .........

This is so sad but keep trying:thumbup:

  15. Several times i have tried to help people with a very negative response. Bearing in mind i drive a sign-written transit van with beacons and pictures of machines on the side and usually have dirty hands and overalls on.

Just the other day driving to the brother-in-laws to take a look at his van, saw these two young ladies attempting to change a wheel on a little fiesta, they had the 'jack' under the car and it did not look safe at all. One girl had her legs under the unsupported vehicle attempting to remove the wheel nuts. So i pulled in in front of them, put the beacons on, jumped out, walked over and said afternoon, need a hand with that? "What the f**k's it got to do with you, you weirdo, p**s off!" All the best then i replied, and drove off.

Some people are just so ungrateful.

Not had that response yet, but don't let it put you off, the world is full of haters but by doing a little act of kindness we can change that. Think Ill make that my mantra.
