  1. Thanks for all the suggestions guys, looking at hitch climber and spider jack then, will check videos and see what's best, cambium saver is a must from now on though I agree.
  2. Well, I had some slip on my traditional two loop prussik so I got brave and added and extra loop. Very adventurous I know
  3. Hey, I've been climbing for nearly ten years on the ol' rope and prussik. About two years ago I felt adventurous and upgraded to a "triple prussik". I know what your thinking, crazy! Well, everyone and his dog seems to have these crazy systems that make life easier and I feel it's time for me to upgrade as it were. Any suggestions are welcome, fairly normal systems though, not SRT or anything. Cheers
  4. I just don't have the money for it!
  5. Many thanks, I really want to do this course but with current commitments I really don't know if I can afford to fork out the 6k!

  13. Yep I'm going to just have to wait for a few months untill it's a bit cooler. Focus on my firewood BUT I had a go at planing one of them to see what the grain was like and I keep getting this fluffy stuff that won't plane off from any angle? Is it because the wood is wet?
  14. Hmm since I only make short planks at the moment I was considering making a DIY kiln. But is it worth it? Does it speed up the process that much? Thanks
  15. Very true, but I was under the impression that you will get a nicer finish the longer you season it? True?
  16. Yeah I think I'm going to spend the next few weeks milling everything and stacking it out of site somewhere so I forget about it! Hmm good idea I will have to get some and do it to the stuff I have already. Shame I don't have any dry stuff for this year

  19. Hey, I have two acacia planks I milled a few days ago, they are partially dry because they have been in log form for a few years. They still seem a bit damp though, they are an inch thick. How long to dry inside my shed stacked with a spacer between them? Roughly... It's really nice wood I don't want them to spoil. Thanks
  20. Nice one mate, appreciate the advice!
