  1. I still blame the goverment for the problems with the countries financial mess (common market) billions to brussels and this country needs it more. I will do my best to work around it.
  2. Hope you get your gold as i plan similar as i want to get my car licence hopefully before my birthday which would be more then gold to me. freedom and transport is what i am planning to get then look for more work with my new wheels.
  3. It's worth a try i might have got a few jobs like that to do here at home. might be able to cut some logs from some fallen ash limb there will be racking lifting barrowing that way it's a bit of everything.
  4. i could take a pic of a log splitter i made it's no the best looking thing but affective just the same but people could say that someone else done it what i might do is make a video of me using my chainsaw and post here and still put pic of the splitter up as well. I will call an old friend in morning for some wood to cut up for the video.
  5. That's what i was going to try after i rung the jobcentre
  6. I hate sitting around doing nothing i like doing something but sometimes you have to sit at home to make calls and fill in forms. if i had my way i would not be on here but in a wood working but with out sitting here to make calls i will not be able to go forward only backward. And there is something the other guy's have probably got that i haven't and that is their own transport i know the work is out there it is just getting it and to it. I feel its easy for people who have the work to say its easy to find but when you are trying to get off the ground and into the trade it takes time.
  7. I was going to call job centre first to ask for help with driving test and make some phone calls to try find work hope i find one that will pick me up.
  8. chagford devon is where i live small village not much here.
  9. As the saying goes you can but try nothing ventured nothing gained.
  10. Chainsaw nptc cs30 and cs31, all these tickets are atb landbased tree pruning from hydraulic platform, mobile elevating work platform, manual lifting -safe lifting, brushcutters/trimmers, fastco 12.2 risk assessment (forestry) tree identification. I a way you could be right acg128 and its me as i have not got licence it could be the goverment for screwing the country up even more could be a number of things all i ask for is a break and a chance.
  11. I am 33 so most charity group won't help as out side of the age range and as for you saying don't be a talker be a do'er i have been trying to do thing's all my life but something all ways stops me. And it is not me.
  12. Well what i feel as my good points are i am hard working a keen learner start in the morning (7.30 to 8) every morning take a pride in my gear and in me and i don't give up that easy may seem like it but i take a step back and go on again. What else can i say just if i could find some work i could take pics and make video and post on here to show every one that i am capable of doing the work.
  13. I think you could be right but will ask them as if i had my licence i could get work (i hope) and thank's suffolk-matt
  14. To get provisional licence is £50 plus the tests puts it up to about £300 and i have tried to borrow it and no one will help as if i fail on the first test i will have to find the money for it again not easy. Trouble is there is not a lot of work near me and will need to go further afield to find the work. A hour in most tractors is only about 12 to 15 miles.
  15. Thank you, The way thing's are going i will have to go to the job centre and sign on they might know if some one will help it's worth a try any way i don't like the thought but i have no chose at the moment.
  16. The thing is i asked around and i was told i could drive on the road if the vehicle was limited or agri registered and as for the honesty side of me that is the way i was brought up to tell the truth and be honest.
  17. I have got the bacis chainsaw ticket nptc cs30 and cs31 already as for the driving test if i had the money to take it people tell me i could pass first time as they think i am a safe driver (i say the second or third time) but do want to take the test as it is where i want to be independent and free to travel. No offence take stoxs.
  18. There is nothing but the money as without it i can't get the provisional licence that is why i am trying to get a job with good money not like my last job.
  19. I used to have a daihatsu fourtrak on limited use but was told i was not aloud to drive it on the road with tractor licence before i was told that i was getting a few odd jobs coming in but then had to get rid of it you guy's might nknow some thing about the laws on this but as far as i was aware i could do it and some people i spoke to thought the same if i can i will look into getting one again. As for gardening i have tried this and when i started i was rushed off my feet for about 3 month then nothing now there are more gardeners here then gardens as outsiders are coming in doing it for next to nothing because they have so many places to do they can. I have worked most of my life with chainsaws and tractors i have done farming and was doing it for about 7 years but now the farms are going family run so not easy to get in there. And as i was told once forestry and chainsawing is in the blood.
  20. I know you will all come up with some sort of answer and i appreciate you comments i am finding it very hard to find work. I have tried my friends and family and nothing found i have phoned different firms and no work for me i know the work is out there to be done but no one wants me to do it. This make me feel depressed and i think its a world where if your face fits the job is yours and if your name is right as well. Maybe you gentlemen in this line of work can tell me what the hell is wrong is it me or the work? (woodland and forestry)
  21. The princess thrust will probably help as long as you are under 26 years old as i tried them once but i was 30 when i did and they would not help me so if you are 26 or under they might help or try business information point they know if you can get help and from whom you can get it. Remember the best way to learn is hands on experience.
  22. I was told the best way to learn is do it and not by reading books as some of what is it the books is wrong and misleading ( you learn best from the odd mistake) i know i have.
  23. I am willing to work for low wages as long as there is accommodation available for me and it is a suitable amount but no silly offers.
  24. I am not a pro worker but working to get better at the work.
  25. thanks and happy new year to you
