There is a rubber band at the top of the tether that does not allow the RW to come in contact with the ZZ. When ascending, there is about 3" between them. I will say that it is something that you really need to watch for. I have tried to press it on the release lever and the orientation of the RW with the stiff tether makes it harder to press on release than you may think. Oh, and Petzl does not advise anyone to use it in a single line configuration...lol

DdRT is just as smooth if not smoother.

Here is a pic of my ZZ/RW/7" stiff tether combo. The tether is made of stitched New England Tech cord and shrink tubing. So far so good, but I have only been on it a week. Donny

Hey folks, Check this out. I use a Metolius Monster daisy chain (rated) or Sterling's Chain Reactor (14kn) for both my tether and footloop. This allows the HH to act as a handled ascender withou the toothed cams. I advance with a Pantin and footloop. Great for extended limbwalks and if I want the HH closer to my bridge, then I just lanyard in and clip the HH back to my bridge. Here is a link to the video I made. No worries. I understand that we all are production arborists. Some of us can barely make ends meet much less take the time and money to go to a training. Lets make this as affordable as possible...Workin man's SRT training!!!

Then I would have to crash at your house...lol. Can't afford a hotel on that budget.

I'm not sure how to get it in ibnooks. As far as the Unicender is concerned, we do discuss following the manufacturer’s recommendations. Their are also many best practices for the Unicender in the manual. I am going to have a chat with Rock Exotica tomorrow so I will get the latest. Cheers, Donny

Maybe I should have informed folks that I have been working single line in treework for the past 7 years and have been a foreman with a tree crew for the past 5. Many tools in my toolbag are dual purpose. I am not new to single line in treework and I think that the manual will show this. Please take the time to examine the contents of the manual.
