Thanks Jonathan, do you charge the same for single boards as selling the whole milled log? i would prefer to sell all the boards in a log together rather than one board from that log and another from that one.

ive just bought a few 4.9 logs from the commission at Ae but i took all the 4.9s worth having, they've got some 6.2 left though. most are good clean straight logs at 35 average top diameter

not sure when the job will be started, i was just posting to see if there was any interest in Norway as a standing sale thinning as i dont have means of extracting the timber myself.

Hi, is there any interest in Norway spruce? have 100+ m3 of thinning to come out in the scottish borders, not sure whether its going to be standing sale or roadside yet, access is ok. dbh is 15-30 cheers

Stihl if you've got the money or a good cheap alternative is the tanaka tbc 4200 used it all last season on grass and brambles with no hassle, only thing it needed was a new primer bubble as had a split in it. light weight, plenty of power.

Hi Guys does anybody use Larch for cleft fencing? (a 3 rail and post fence) I'm in south Scotland with no (or very little of) Sweet Chestnut and so I'm thinking transport costs would not allow me to use it hence looking in to Larch. Does it cleave ok? or can anyone local (ish) give me a price for oak thats suitable. Thanks

do the pliers work ok? there's modern ones on the net for £25 which is alot better than £300+ for the normal setters.

Hi, Does anyone set their own teeth on their band mill blade? if so whats a good one? I've got a couple of blades that are leaving a line, even after sharpening, so a tooth must be out. I'm having trouble finding anything online that's not in the states or really expensive. Thanks

i love my husky 346, powerful and lightweight, usually have a 15" bar on it but had a 20" on it the other day and still managed the job without too much hassle.

yes, really impressed with the timber, lost a couple of boards from the centre of the logs due to cracks and found some nails i was milling for a client so i wont get the benefit of the timber but it was a pleasure, did wish i had hydraulics for a period though.

Hi Guys (and Girls) I've just put together my new LM Pro mobile sawmill and will be operating in the Dumfries And Galloway area. so if anyone hears of anyone requiring some logs milled please contact me. and does anybody know where the best place to advertise my service will be? i hope to eventually get enough work from word of mouth but in the mean time i think I'll put an add in the local paper. thanks.
