  1. ok in response to where i draw the line, yes a line has to be drawn somewhere, but i do ALL i can in this world to minamise the impact my life has on all other animals, animals were NOT put on this earth to feed us,all the nutrients needed can be got from plants at a fraction of the cost to the enviroment, yes i am a cutter, but nine times out of ten i work with an ecologist to minamise the damage caused.a lot of the time im finding that people find it easier to eat what they like, without looking into what they are really eating and the affects etc, maybe do your homework, open your eyes a bit,or is ignorance,bliss....anyway,ill leave you to it,thanks for your help, those that did,and yes I come across a bit confrontational, but then again,im speaking for all the animals killed everyday, just so you lot can have a snack...sweet dreams....
  2. well im vegan for the animals,as all vegans should be,we do not have the right to exploit another sentinent for our benefit,fullstop...try watching the film Earthlings, then tell me otherwise,so yeah, even if they dont last as long, ill still not have the killing of another being ...just for a pair of boots...on my conscience...thats it really, just MY belief...thanks for the help anyway...
  3. Ah great ,nice one Rover, thank you
  4. Hi guys, anyone on here vegan that can recommend a good pair of non leather boots? i currently use Haix but they`re wearing out fast and i want an ethical non leather quality boot to replace them, cheers

  7. what qualification do you need to look for bats, and where can you get it? ty
  8. well,my main thing with climbing i dont want to be told to climb a tree, get half way up and not be able to go higher...maybe i should practice more...i would love to do my UA 5 but its paying for it,or getting someone else to pay for it!! same with the degree, its finding time and money for it,but may look into the price of doing my UA 5,i guess i shouldve gone to Plumpton or somewhere similar when i was younger...hindsight..wonderful! lol
  9. ok ive got a bit of a problem,im not sure where to go next in my career, ive got the basic CS courses up to cs 38,got my UA 1,2.1,2.2,3 and my PA 1/6,i cant really go the climbing course way,due to vertigo problems,so im stuck on the ground, though im ok up to about 30 feet or so,annoying.....Soooo i cant find any courses for groundies for rigging etc,am doing a correspondence course in arb with the Horticultural Correspondence College, which is all brought and paid for,so gotta do that one, just not sure where to go and what courses are needed to get there,i work 5 days a week for a tree company on the rail, and dont have a lot of spare cash...plus im not getting any younger,45 atm....:confused1:
  10. oh and barletts pay for any training needed, yeah ppe isnt a perk, but some firms get you want they want to get you,ie cheaper the better, others let you choose what you want,so...
  11. had an interview for bartletts a couple of months ago, they was paying £78 for groundies before tax,the guys said the wages are low all round though you do get all yr perks,ie holiday bank holidays and ppe payed for ,so swings and roundabouts really...
