  1. I may be able to offer some advice here. My other profession is a sound engineer so I have a fair bit of knowledge regarding noise exposure. In theory if you are using sufficient hearing protection the 2dB increase will not make a big difference to your recommended daily noise exposure. Have a look at the chart below. Although I cannot preach as my daily noise exposure is often far more than recommended. Although I always without fail use hearing protection when using saws / plant all day.
  2. I understand what your saying about the swivel that may annoy me too.
  3. Fair enough. I'm still drawn towards the ART Positioner I still haven't made my mind up. Still using the distel and a pulley lol
  4. What mates the cinch so popular??
  5. Thanks everyone il try that number if not see if writtle have any contact info for him
  6. Hey everyone just trying to make contact with Steve Woodley. He did have a website but I can't seem to locate it. Just wondering if he is on here or anyone on here is in contact with him. Cheers
  7. The mrs wants to do her CS 30 / 31 but she is tiny. 4'11" tall size 3 fleets can't find any boots smaller than a 6 anywhere. Can anyone point me in the right direction or is this a lost cause??
  8. Cheers for your input everyone! I did have a grillion and I did like it but it seems to have gone walkies
  9. Cool well I was pretty convinced it was the positioner I wanted so I think that's what il go for! Thanks guys
  10. Yeah I like the price of the positioner. Was thinking the one with the swivel looks the part
  11. Currently I use 5m lanyard with a distel and a micro pulley. It works and does the job but looking at getting a mechanical device. Was looking at the petzl zillon or the ART Positioner. Anyone have any preference and reasons for and against??
  12. May just go with the L200 then
  13. Anyone know what the mpg is like on a l200? Just been having a look at a 56 play 2.5 TD On line. Only £3600
  14. Will do mate! I didn't think it was going to be this difficult to choose a pick up
  15. Not as good on fuel as I have been told by various people it ranges from 40-55mpg. Thought that was a bit far fetched for a truck
  16. I forgot about the Isuzu! Supposed to be a very good truck! I will have a looksie
  17. Prob about £5000 was looking at the BT 50 / ford ranger about 56 reg but people are saying that the L200 is better. Don't really need a tipper probably end up putting a truckman on it
  18. Right I wana get a working vehicle to chuck saws and climbing stuff in the back. Needs to be able to tow a decent amount. Be reliable and have 4WD. I'd love a hilux but can't stretch to that so...... Ford ranger / Mazda BT50 I know they are the same thing Or L200?? Advice or other recommendations would be very welcome. Cheers everyone
  19. A friend of mine had a few acres spare and has started growing Christmas trees. He is planting 600 every year. They take 5 years to be of sellable size but the people he buys the saplings off promise to buy them back in 5 years at £20 a tree.
  20. That is a very kind offer! I have to get funds together first anyway so it will be a while. I will PM you when the weather is better Cheers mate
  21. Yeah I keep thinking a 880 might be the way forward. I may go the 880 route as it's probably more useful in the long run. Just thought as I'm getting more tree work it seems a waste to log up decent timber and I'd be better off milling it up to make some extra money. Also in the near future me an the mrs want to build a timber / cob house so can cut costs even more by milling any useful timber for the house.
  22. Nice one mate thank you
  23. I saw in a post not long ago someone posted a picture of a table of Regions and power suppliers. I have searched high an low and for the life of me cannot find the post. Does anyone happen to have the table in question?? Many Thanks Dave
