  1. Considering a move to Tasmania. Has anyone on here worked over there or know of any reputable companies to contact? I have over 7 years experience as a climber working in the UK, Canada and Australia. Cheers, Ed.
  2. Thanks BunyipBen, I’ll make sure to check them out.
  3. Looking for a months work in December while I’m transitioning between working in Canada and Australia. I’m a 26 year old arborist with around 7 years experience. Ive been working as a foreman in British Columbia Canada, but just looking to climb and earn some extra money before I leave. Capable in all aspects of tree work from small formative prunes through to large rigging dismantles. I have my own climbing equipment and PPE, and also can provide references. Cheers for looking, Ed.
  4. I think I’ll be starting out in SA, so if anyone could recommend some good companies to contact that would awesome!
  5. Hi Mark, thanks for the reply. I’m looking around the areas of SA, Victoria or NSW. I actually have a friend who lives at Airlie beach ha.
  6. Hi there, my name is Ed Carrigan and I'm a 26 year old arborist from England currently residing in British Colombia, Canada. I'm looking to move to Australia for a year with my girlfriend, and I'm looking for work with a professional company with high standards of work and safety. I've been working as a climber in the tree industry for 6 years, 3.5 years in the UK and the past 2.5 in British Coloumbia, Canada. I currently hold the position of crew leader/foreman at the company I work for in Whistler B.C but have worked in a variety of different roles within the industry. I am competent in all aspects of tree work from small formative prunes to large scale removals and reductions. I also have experience working with a variety of different machinery from EWP, stumpgrinders, skid steers and so on. I hold all the relevant nptc tickets for felling and climbing alongside being a RFS (royal forestry society) certified arborist. Interested to hear what work is available and can send resume and reference from current employer upon request. Cheers for looking, Ed.
  7. Yes, I'm currently living and working out of Whistler BC. There is plenty of work available for skilled productive climbers, with most companies willing to sponsor or help out with permanent residency applications. Where in Canada are you thinking of moving to?
  8. Awesome, thanks for the reply to my post
  9. Thats sounds good to me working on firs and pines all day, no branch walking. Did you find getting work over there easy ? I would describe myself as a very competent climber and experienced in all practical aspects of arboriculture.
  10. Hi there just wondering if anyone has any experience of working in canada ? Im looking to head out British colombia next year, hopefully around the whistler Squamish area. Wanting to gain as much info as possible regarding visas and firms out there.
  11. oh forgot to add i have all my own PPE, climbing kit and ms261 chainsaw
  12. Hi my name is Ed Carrigan i'm 20 years old from Ripon, North Yorkshire and seeking employment in the arboricultural industry. I have some experience on the ground and climbing but looking to further advance my career. I hold NPTC CS 30,31,38,39 and recently completed a level 2 apprenticeship in environmental conservation with my current employer. I also hold various other NPTC units in pesticide application, tractor driving and hold a full clean driving licence with B+E. I have applied to complete an RFS certificate in arboriculture which i will be doing online in my own time. Im a hardworking enthusiastic person looking for a future career in arboriculture and not afraid of putting in a lot of time and effort to achieve this goal. Any advice or chance of even doing some weekend work for anyone would be much appreciated.
