  2. Hi, after spending an amazing two and bit weeks in California looking at some monumentous trees i thought i'd share a few of the 700 photos that i've taken with all of you. The photos don't do the trees or the views any justice but i've tried to choose the best. I would deffinatly recommend this trip to those who love HUGE trees and sun ( and snow!) All the best to everyone, Jen x
  3. I will, just bought a new camera to get lots of piccies, only 8 days to go
  4. Myself and a couple of friends have looked into climbing the redwoods while we're in california next month, you either have to get special permission from their equivalent of the forestry commision(they do give it) or climb the trees that aren't in the public eye as much, i.e. the ones further in the middle of the park off the general route through. Getting permission is quite hard so we've given up on that. Have fun
  5. Well if anyone knows someone with one arm can you send them my way please
  6. Thanks for the ideas guys. yeah i'm finding the whole sling thing not as restrictive as i thought it would be,Shame it's blue though x
  7. I'm getting introduced to the xbox tommorow, woooo goina be such fun.
  8. Nope just the squishy bits around the joint. And yeah i think walking a fair amount is my best option at the mo, especially as i can't ride the horses, which sucks. Yep this forum and facebook are going to become my new best friends i think. thanks x
  9. Oh god yeah, nothings stopping that and it should be sorted by then so i don't think my hol will be affected. x
  10. Woh thats pretty hardcore. yeah i think the dogs are going to be going for a lot of walks. although i don't think they'll complain too much. get well soon yourself. x
  11. Mm yeah i have to have physio in a couple of weeks so that'll help. yeah i'll keep updates on the exciting things i get up to, hahaha i wish. x
  12. thanks, may look into that. x
  13. hahahaha thanks, i'll remember that one, although i have to wear a sling which sucks so either way it's going to be awkward. x
  14. On wednesday i thought it would be a fantastic idea to dislocate my left shoulder and rip all of my shoulder muscles and tendons whilst climbing. This now means, having been to the hospital i am supposed to be having a minimum of 4 weeks off work doing nothing too extreme. Today was the first day and i am monumentally bored already so if anyone has any ideas of what i could do to fill my time they would be appreciated. thanks x
  15. Cheers guys. mmm hip may be the wrong word to use after saying that! x
  16. thankyou very much both of you, and yeah i think we will have a good trip thanks. x
  17. hi guys Myself and a couple of guys are heading out to California for 3 weeks come november to go and have a look at the redwoods and i was wondering whether anyone had any advice on places to go and to stay. We're flying into San Francisco and staying there for a couple of days but after that we don't have a plan so any help would be fab. We've thought about going to Muir woods and then on to Humboldt, whether anyone has been to these places and if its worth going to either of them or not. Also one of the guys was thinking about climbing the redwoods, i know you need special permission but we don't know who to talk to about it or whether it's worth doing. Any ideas you have it would be ace to know them. Thanks in advance, x
  18. Was good to see you friday. hope today and tommorow are just as good. x
  19. You wouldn't happen to do the yale poisen ivy camaline rope, the pink and purple one. i can't seem to find it anywhere. thanks x
  20. Do these count? ( sorry pic is upside down)
  21. Okay, cool i'll look into that. cheers for the help, x
  22. Probs didn't explain myself too well, i mean if i get injured doing that and i can't work or i get injured doing tree work what insurance do i need? if i need any at all. just asking for peoples general opinions.
  23. ahh thats where i've been going wrong all these years, makes sense now
  24. hi, i was wondering whether anyone had any advice as to what insurance i should get, i do a lot of horse riding outside of work and have had a few near misses with injuries, and was starting to think that when it inevitably happens i'll be going without wages due to being self employed, until i get back into work, which would be a dilemma. i know the answer is to not get injured but if it does i don't want to get stuck. any ideas would be fab. thanks in advance. x
  25. I just use ones you get from normal shops e.g. Acessorize but i make sure they're scratch and shatter resistant. seem to work for me
