  4. Was that Jim Davidsons club mate? On the seafront?

I filled in for my brothers team once, never again.

    Waaaaay too serious.

I liked to dick about and play fast 'Color of Money' style, not dick about conferring about every shot with a group of fat, boring alcoholics.

    I'm not fat.

    Well, I wasn't then.

Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk

    :laugh1: :laugh1:

I agree in a way mate!! But I also think if your having a mess about with a good player it's even better!!

I used to live in sweden and in the small town of vasterhaninge there's a bar ran by the serbian mafia lol and they REALLY take their pool serious!! I once beat there top dog in a short first to three comp for 2000kr (£20) and after I won id never felt so uncomfortable in all my life.....:laugh1: i drank up and left pronto lol

  5. Better off using a cue  I always found pool to be 90% luck  I used to go and watch the pool and sometimes got a game if someone didn't turn up but when it started getting serious it was like watching paint dry.

You far from burton mate?? Can come down here for a game if you want, we have a good night out lol

  6. Funnily enough I went for a game of pool with my old mate from back in the days on Monday. We used to play pool together every night down the pub, also played in the pub league and got to a pretty high standard. I'm giving serious thought to buying a reconditioned pub pool table as I have a spare room now which it would be ideal in.

have you still got it mate?? Lol i know a lad who didn't play for a year or two but was well known as a top player in his day....one night i talked him into a few games and first game I beat him but in the second he got his eye back and beat me then 7 balled me off the break twice in a row....:laugh1:

im improving all the time but it's crazy the difference in quality between someone who plays in the top league's to someone who still plays alot but not competitively!!!

  7. not played in a long time but have a table at home (not enough room to play) which sadly will be sold in the near future.

at my brothers stag do whilst he was drumming in his live gig at a pub in wycombe i was on the pool table all night and only lost twice out of about 24-25 games. i'd forgotten how good i can be...

Good going that mate!! Can't you build a man shed to fit it in lol

  8. I used to, till it got to the serious leugue, was no fun then way too serious

We're in the bottom league so it's a right laugh for us....:laugh1: I went to watch a few games in the premier league last year and I know what you mean lol they were arguing over a touching ball for 5 mins at one point :laugh1: it would defo be boring playing like that all the time!!!

  9. HI STEWIE we are NOT IN 17/18TH mate :lol:thanks jon

I know mate BUT imagine coming home and asking where your tea was only to find your missis had been on a big section fell that day and was to tired to cook......:sneaky2:

  10. I work at knights tree services as a climber/team leader & as he said he is a fair boss. Personally I wouldn't of had the patience with the lad. 18 months into the job and he still can't be left to finish off a stump, never mind fell or dismantle a tree. I can honestly say, as I've seen it with my own eyes he has had lots of mentoring and time spent with him to help him along. Kev has even took him out on weekends to help him with his weaknesses. The lad is a lovely person but is not work motivated in the slightest, let's just say his interests lay elsewhere.

He is not on the forum as is not interested in the industry. For him it is a job, which is fine but I feel if you want to do well in this industry you have got to have that spark and love for it like so many of us do.

I think the reason the post was put up is that kev is a nice guy & I think he was hoping someone might say something along the lines of "I had a lad that was like that but 2 years down the line he is an absolute asset to me".

He really does do all he can and I know letting the lad go is the last thing he wants to do, but unfortunately he is running a business and this lad is costing money to have on site.

Before anyone says anything no I'm not after a pay rise lol.

Why not sit the lad down without kev and ask him what's up?? Maybe he just needs to know your on his side and want to help him......Other than that I've heard jeremy kyle is quiet at the min.....
