  1. I need a new log basket . If only I could weave one:biggrin:
  2. Had a machine cut off cut of oak 18 inches x4x9 from a church restoration job. I sat it behind woodburner which runs 24 /7 for 4 weeks . Today keen to see results I took mc on it wow 2% on end grain 4 on face.cut with cross cut saw and still as wet as an otters pocket 38 %mc .and it was still 20% about 10 mm from edge.does it need air circulation rather than heat
  3. Hi all just quick one .weighed my kindling nets and at 7 kg each I'm asking £2.50. Is that about right.
  4. burning 101 year old oak roof sections some 6x3 inches and 9x1 roof boards all fair condition .thought they would be a very low mc but all is 20%. but they do burn nice.so can oak be any drier in log form
  5. 2 cubic metres?done a load today and the bloke said thats not 2 cubic metres l said yes it is. he said should be loads more.he then tried to explain that it should be 2x2x2 which would be an amazing 8 cube for 125 quid.he was very well educated.very strange
  6. my clearview pioneer is pukka.not had oil heating on for 14 months in my small house .was allways 21 degrees up stairs in my babys room .kettle boiling, clean glass.easy controls .easy light.get a temp gauge though and keep it in its heat effcient zone. pricey but no regrets at all
