  1. Thanks mate, will give them a ring. Ideally I'm looking to stay self employed, but am happy to be available for 5 days a week, possibly more. I'm a hard worker, and admit that money is a massive motivator!
  2. Morning all, I've been working as a utility cutter for the last year or so, and I'm wanting to make a change to the location in which I live and work. I'm a self-employed 23 year old, and am hard working, passionate about my work and punctual. I have all the main qualifications needed, and I have put myself through all of these in order to be able to be able to do the job I want to be doing! I'm also willing to do more qualifications if needed. The tickets I do have are: CS30, CS31, CS38, CS39, CS40. The utility tickets I have are UA1, UA2.1, UA 2.2 and UA2.3. I also have a First Aid at Work certificate that is valid until April 2015, and have a full UK Manual driving license. If you have any questions or would like me to send a CV for you to look at, please get in touch, either on here or by calling 07747858786. If I don't answer it's because I'm working, but please leave a message and ill get back to you as soon as I can! Thanks for reading, Tim

  4. That would be brilliant if you had a contact number, thanks very much!

  5. Hi all, I'm still looking for work in Tunbridge Wells to fill up my weeks. Does anyone have a use for little young me?! I'm hard-working, willing and capable, and am looking for anything to keep me occupied for two, sometimes three days a week. Sensible rates, all relevant tickets, CS30, CS31, CS38, CS39, and UA1, plus full driving license and climbing kit and topping saw. Happy to do anything else, such as fencing or hedge cutting too. Will be there with a smile! If there is anything that anyone would like to know about me, or would like to phone me for a chat, give me a call on 07747858786, or PM me on here. Thanks, Tim
  6. I'm looking for work in or around Tunbridge Wells soon, could come and work for you whenever. Looking to move at end of July, but willing to travel before if needed. Climbing kit, topping saw and PPE provided, and all kit has a LOLER. Would you like me to send you a CV? Tim
  7. Sorry mate, no can do! If only you were in or around Tunbridge Wells!
  8. Well, I'm still looking for work to fill up my diary for when my move to Tunbridge Wells comes around! Can anyone help?! Looking to move at the end of July now. Will happily do anything and everything, and if I don't know how to I will soon learn. I don't have a problem with getting my hands dirty, just need some work to fill my time up. I guess this is a bit of a begging post, but am absolutely desperate for some work! Have CS30, CS31, CS38, CS39, UA1, Emergency First Aid at Work and a full clean driving license and trailer ticket, with two years in the industry. I am looking to also get my UA2.1 soon as well. Please, let me know via PM or on here, any help massively appreciated!
  9. Email sent. Sorry for delay!
  10. Sent CV to email address, cheers.
  11. As per the title, am still looking for work in and around Tunbridge Wells! Ideally full-time, have CS30, CS31, CS38, CS39 and am extremely interested in trees and arboriculture! Please, PM me if anyone has a company looking, or someone you know is looking for a hard working and punctual sort of bloke. CV and references available on request.
  12. Where are you based in Surrey?
  13. My missus doesn't smoke, but she doesn't mind me smoking. I say that, but she does occasionally get on the nagging wagon. I'd go mad if I couldn't smoke at before work/lunch/after work, but being busy all day definitely makes me forget about it. I think it's a boredom thing. You're right about the gut holding in the van, that probably smells worse than smoke!
  14. I don't find that though, I can start work with at a fast pace, and still be at the same pace by the end of the day... doesn't matter whether I'm dragging and chipping or climbing and cutting. Depends on level of fitness I suppose. I do know I'd find it damn hard to give up though.
  15. Thats alright, I'll get on the phone to the missus and see if she has got last Friday's copy! Thanks for the heads up though.
  16. I don't get a chance to stop and roll a smoke when I'm not on a break. I sometimes wish I could, but I'm also grateful for it as I don't want to start smoking even more!
  17. Either or! I'm thinking I may go self employed, but if I get a good offer I would consider working for a company still. Do you need someone then?
  18. Having been a smoker of rollies for many years, it occured to me that I hadn't yet seen a tree surgeon smoking taylor mades! Is this common in our industry? Or is it just coincidence? A quick glance round the pub on friday night where many of our local tree surgeons nip in for a pint or two after work, would suggest that this is the case... Anyone do or know any different?
  19. Well, by the time I move I will have had 6 months more experience. I know what I'm doing, but sometimes a little bit slow. I think I'll have to be reasonable, and not get greedy. I know there is good money to be had, but if I go in with a competitive rate then hopefully the work will keep coming in! I suppose if tree work does go tits up, I can always go back to fencing, although I'd really rather not do that. Thanks for the advice guys, really big help. Think the plan will be to just go for £120 a day, at least my climbing will reflect that.
  20. Well I'm young and don't have as much experience as others! But I don't doubt my ability to work hard and do a decent job! I think the best thing to do will be to get my foot in the door and see what happens... I need to be earning a decent living, I'm hoping to move soon and costs of living will be quite a lot higher than where I am now! Wages do reflect this as well though. I'm trying to get a feel for a price to ask for at the moment, what are your experiences in how much a fair daily rate is? Sorry if that's a rude question though!
  21. Steve, thanks for the quick reply. Thinking about it in the terms you've put it, I think I also need to go in with a price slightly higher than I want, as I expect there will be a bit of haggling too! I'm hoping to be able to earn a comfortable wage, and to be honest, from what I've been told, the normal rate for a climber is about 120 a day, although feel free to correct me if I'm wrong!
  22. Okay, so I'm looking into going self employed and sub contracting for various different companies. Now, I'm not sure how much to charge as a day rate. How much, if its not too rude to ask, is normally charged a day, just for one bloke with a climbing kit? Or does it depend on location, or on individual companies? How much do you self employed people charge? I have a figure in mind, but don't know if it is too much! Any help would be massively appreciated. Thanks, Beefbeef.
  23. Am looking to move to Tunbridge Wells at the end of May/June, but need a job before I move! Does anyone need a hard working, concientious and punctual tree surgeon to work for them? Have CS30, CS31, CS38, CS39 and full driving license. Please private mail me if so, and will be happy to supply CV and references if requested. Thanks.
