  1. Thanks Andy,

Highland Forestry got back to me as well and also mentioned Jas P Wilson and a few Unimog dealers!

  2. Hi there Tree Medic,

I just read some of your posts mentioning that you operate a couple of MB tracs - we just got our hands on one a few months ago and we've been trying to locate 2nd hand parts for it ever since but to no avail :(

Do you know anyone who scraps/breaks MB tracs or may have some broken at the moment?

    Cheers,

  3. Hi there renewablejohn,

I just read one of your posts mentioning that you own/operate MB tracs - we just bought one a few months back and we've been trying to locate second hand parts for it ever since but to no avail :(

Do you know anyone who scraps/breaks MB tracs or may have some broken at the moment?

  4. Hi Brushcutter,

I gather from one of your posts that you were considering buying an MB trac - did you ever get around to it?

We got one a few months ago but we haven't been able to locate anyone who has second hand parts for them. Do you know of any broken/scrapped MB tracs?

    Cheers,

  5. I wouldn't depend on the information for a 'WF trac' machine being equivalent to any 'MB trac' machines, given that it's a totally separate company and different production timeline, etc. From pics and videos I've seen, it appears WF took over production of the MB trac after Mercedes-Benz stopped production but aside from the chassis and cab, I don't know how many parts were also continued in production; i.e. engine, gearbox et al - they may have literally taken over the production line 'as is' or they may have changed parts like gear-boxes and hydraulic pumps to be better suited to the forestry industry requirements and/or their own implements. And anyway, my speculation and conjecture above only applies to the WF tracs produced in the few years immediately after taking over the production - later models may have been completely changed by WF and I imagine any models produced within the last 10 years or so might not bear any true resemblance to the original MB tracs..... Having said all that, I actually have a couple of useful books (owner's/maintenance manuals, etc) and data sheets for various MB tracs so if anybody needs anything for a specific MB trac model, let me know the model and year, etc, and I'll see if I can root it out!
  6. Hi there Float,

I see from one of your posts that you're operating a 1300 MB trac - did you ever get the info you needed on the oil flow spec, etc? If you didn't, let me know, as I might have data like that in some of the manuals/data sheets I have for MBs.

We recently got a year 1985 1300 model but we can't seem to find any 2nd hand parts for them anywhere. Do you know of any scrapped/broken MBs anywhere?

    Cheers,
