  1. ha, im stuck too! i currently drive a 01 caddy tdi, i have had hiluxes for 3 years, mercedes 312d hi roof lwb sprinter, the caddy is light on fuel and easy maintained, it wont go on a verge though! the hilux is a pig on diesel but it would pull anything i want. i considered geting a unimog instead of a lux but im adssured the running costs are too high... if you need a multi use off road vehicle choose a 4x4 pickup, if you need a tipper, buy a transit! im going to try keeping the caddy and get the hilux ( i dont have any car)

  2. i kept the ram low on mine so the pressure would be less on the slider.... the slider plate has a kind of L plate bolted on either side with a few high tensile bolts, oh a bit late but watch the angle of your knife, too short and thick and it might not work, a long razor sharp one and itll kind of cut timber but can get stuck with the resistance of timber passing it

  3. your 4 or 6 way splitting head looks to be wrong to me, the outside edges need to grip the log first! if it catches near the upright blade first itll spread the wood rather than split it, if im wrong my humble apologies! heres mine, its getting a few more attachments when i am not busy! it self loads too

  5. i had a hilux, now havea 1.9td caddy, great fuel economy but have to buy a trailer for the quad. hilux was great but couldnt fit the quad when the toolbox was in the bed and was harder on diesel, tyres and maintenance. if i get busier i think a crew cab pickup and a 16 - 18 foot trailer would be ideal...

  6. around the top of the page theres a search tab, if you search youll get most answers, lads arent too keen on re posting answers... look at whattimberyou expect to split, moisture, size etc if you read through past treads theres a load of info here

  7. not the best starer tractor but fendt xylon is very capable ie front and back pto with arms also front and back front loader also snow plough on front arms pinned to belly so equal pressure when dosing 40k air brakes and twin air suspended seats but i would think valtra tick all the boxes

id have recomended that with the case quad trac and maybe the cat challenger!

  8. What grant are you applying for? I am putting in for one under the Farming and Forestry Improvement Scheme and no business plan is required which saves a load of headaches!

  9. its too dear for me, the full option list is near 20k euro, i used a vahva jussi yesterday and if i buy one it will be the 400, very well built machine and nice to operate, the controls could be done better but cest la vie... no idea on the song though! thanks for feedback!
