i work with plastics, i was thinking of the same for the ranger, theres a load of types. if you can get sheets with uv stabiliser... prolong there life!

i think im near one other arbtalk user, hes way bigger outfit than ive interest in! ive talked about subcontracting to him, and might well do in future, with my family and i theres not a lot we cant handle in small timber jobs, ( anything not requiring harvesters forwarders) i think any advertising is better than none.. plus looking at competitors or someone of a similar mindset in the uk or further afield can be an inspiration...

all ppeis a waste of money, well ifyou want to be a deaf blind tree surgeon with probably limited mobility and a fear of tools, i wear full ppe except gloves, think they mask the feel of the saw.... each to there own!

oxy acetylene torch and 3/4 drive socket set, 6 ft bar.... failing that die grinder, a lot more accurate than an angle grinder so you wont damage the blade or shaft! good luck, give everything in there the once over when its off just in case!

ive a stihl splitting axe, used a true temper maul, on ash true temper is beter

i built 2 splitters, ive a stihl maul. if i was to have a steady stream of clean workable timber id use the axe, if getting decent loads or knotty dry etc timber hire a decent splitter or buy one, i doubt theres anyone here regrets overspecing on one!
