  1. Now those are what you need for the major size petrol roll burners!!! The puking pumpkin, gunshot wound to head and the petrol fired pumpkins all come from the same site. check out extremepumpkins.com the guy is a genius and also mad!! some brilliant templates and a stack of designs to copy
  2. I have a Navara on an 05 plate which was one of the first in the country when it was released. They are not all bad and there are a lot of them out there!! Done 70K now, it had a new clutch, under warranty as they had an issue with the clutch plate being too lightweight under heavy REVERSING. It really trashes it apparently, so they fitted a heavy duty one which has been fine. I dont do huge amounts of off road but we do have a damn heavy horsebox which was the cause of the reversing problem. I also have a Pathfinder now and that has been fine as well. The vehicle is good in general, but as you say the dealer network is clearly not customer orientated. Nissan UK send out info on the clutch etc, but the dealership deny it for some reason until you present them with the stuff from Nissan UK. The problem everyone has with a working vehicle is that when it doesn't it costs you more than just the time it takes to get it repaired!! There is another recall on at the moment for the Navara, for the alloy wheels. They have had issues with wheels cracking, and in extreme cases shearing/snapping off. This apparently may only occur when severe off road towing has taken place. The recall requires you to take the vehicle to have the alloys inspected, if there are anysigns of cracking they should replace immediately, in my case there were none, but they will replace the alloys in due course anyway. This is on a 6 year old Navara! So there are some good coverage but it is almost always only the bad points that ever come up. Mine has had the clutch done (warranty) the 4wd warning light come on, which involved sensors on the gearbox (warranty) and the prop shaft UJ's were squeaking badly so I had them replaced. Other than that, its been superb to drive.
  3. The flesh of the pumpkin, plus the open top, means there is nothing solid to "encase" the fumes of the petrol. 1st time I tried it I expected a "whoosh" as the thing ignited, but it never does. You will never use a tea light again I can promise you!!! The only question that follows is how big a pumpkin can I find and how big a paper roll??? I have got industrial paper rolls that are over a foot thick and almost 18 inches high but I can't find a damn pumpkin big enough to try them out!!
  4. Nice one..... I have been experimenting with carving over the years and after spending countless hours doing the most intricate and ornate designs, I found that it is far more fun to get a big pumpkin, carve an angry face with large chunky cuts, soak a toilet roll in petrol overnight so it absorbs it all through the roll, put the roll into the pumpkin, no cap on the pumpkin, and light it. You get 3ft high flames producing a long wavy hair effect from your pumpkin!!! Please note: this is not an indoors/dining room table effect!!! A decent toilet roll (not a cheap small one) will burn for about 15 minutes as it acts like a candle. Very funny and quite spectacular!! I will have another 2 going on Saturday at our Club fireworks and halloween party.
  5. Hi I have had a couple of messages about the pile. Hopefully, if I have worked out the site correctly, a picture of the pile will now be my avatar, and there are a couple more pictures on Gallery Scroll down past the wedding photos!! I have also had a quote of £80 + VAT for the haulage using a grab lorry which they tell me will hold approx 16 tonnes. That price is based upon a local destination say within 20 miles of Junction 12 M1 in Bedfordshire. They will be happy to quote for other locations. Cheers Steve
  6. Hi All. This is my first post on here, having browsed through the forum. I have a very large pile of logs....call it 100 tonnes + probably more. It is a variety of woods. I have seen various posts that say that those of you who turn logs into firewood end up in short supply. I have a large supply and I can probably arrange for haulage in loads of 20/25 tonne. I don't yet have a price for that, but it will of course depend upon the distance involved. Another option would be for self collection. I would be looking to set up an arangement with a number of reliable people for the bulk supply of logs at a very competitive price so that we can significantly reduce the pile. I am located just off the M1 at Junction 12, so very accessible. If anyone is interested, I would be pleased to hear from you.
