  1. I stopped using the northan arb supplies bio oil as i found it was gumming up the saws.

I found that i was having problems with oiling and gunk all over.

Gone over to the super tack from clark forest, up scotland, and not been having any problems other than the price. Wouldn't mind finding an alternative as i am sure i used to pay £50 delivered and now it is £59 delivered.

But does the job well, no premature wear to bar or chain. No gunky film over the saw and fins and doesn't smell like chip fat. good consistency as well, runnyer than the arbor oil oregon and thicker than the rotor tech variants.

  2. Can't say I agree with you Kevin, I'd have done the very same as Andy as that repair is more than safe enough. A half inch movement is summit we must all deal with at least a couple of times per week. Tree Austria is a good harness though!

I hear what ya saying thur kenith. That sling is lolered- or should be- so it's no biggie. Although I probably wouldn't use it as a permanent fix, as the op has stated it has been replaced. Most blokes are looking at any excuse to sack it off for the day fair play to the man fe using his noggin. But sounds like it has worn prematurely and it was a good job ya man is on the ball and noticed

  3. Right I have two pairs of trousers that I want to get rid of and thought I would offer them on here for a newbie or a tight arse that just wants cheap/free trousers.

First pair Stihl hiflex all round protection in size medium. Haven't actually had a great deal of use but the outer material got melted by top handle in a couple of places leading to rips. 5 mins with a needle and they will be stela.

Second pair are a pair of englburt straus in medium waist. Supposedly regular leg but do come up short on me ,32 inner leg,. One rip to outter on knee and crotch needs sowing up.

    Free to any collector. TA230LG

    Thanks mark

  4. A friend had one and the AA man told him it was seized, common problem. So took it to ford who had the engine only to find it was actually the air con pump that had seized. Cost him £2700!! After that he was then aware of the common fault and ended up getting rid of it. Shame it was a limited- all the bells and whistles.

  5. I have noticed loads of roadside ash trees with varying stages of crown die back.

inner part of crown generally looking okay but tips will have satlks where keys once were and the stem will be a slighlty darker shade of brown then the healthy bits. Not noticed any legions. If its die back then we got **** loads here in west somerset, lots of smaller trees and some larger showing similar signs.

  6. Well I managed to watch around 3 mins of it (combined flicking through)....

I think there are worse things in the world than having to wear a branded T shirt.

i would agree. I am happy to wear others branded t shirts as long as they are the right size and clean. Hate it when i get given a boob tube thats two sizes too small and soiled :lol:

  7. the three lights would imply the that the anti-stress has got power, is receiving signal from the sensor and also sending power to the solenoid. Going on the electrical theme, i would check the solenoid is getting power from the control board. I think afer that you would need to be checking hyd oil pressure but sounds like the solenoid to me.

  8. I would put a direct feed onto the solenoid to check if it is the antistress that is playing up.

Another thing to check would (depending on the age of the machine) is the antistress control board. At full revs their should be three little leds lit up, two green and one orange.

A problem i had, rollers kept stopping. So i would reset the antistress then it would happen again. Basically it was crud in the fuel tank and it was blocking the filters and slowly the revs would drop till the the antistress would kick in. Eventually worked it out and got a good amount of sludge out of the tank. Probably not the best idea having the diesel feed at the bottom of the tank as if will drag through any sediment.

  9. Bucking spikes or bumper spikes, bigger ones just rob you of bar length why would you want monsters unless they are for posing value ?

So I can get some God damn purchase. I am happy to loose an inch, got plenty of length, if it means the dawgs are going to bite in and give me something to pivot on.
