  1. There are differences, of course, and many of the trees were planted to take account of this but at the end we just wanted the damn things in the ground. I've marked all the dead ones & will replace next winter

In order for history to not repeat its self again, you may want to consider taking a soil sample just to make sure your working with the correct Ph.

If the Ph is off it the soil can be amended and the tree should have a better chance of survival.

  2. Coletti, If your only ever going to be working with light weight implements for shearing hedges the landscape model will work, however the additional work you can handle from using the ELH means that the arborist model may be a better fit for you going forward.

The model 717A is convertible. When working with heavier implements such as a Power Pole Saw the ELH will lift up to 100% of the implements weight and if your working with lighter weight equipment simply remove one of the gas struts and you will be all set. If you only ever want to use a power pole saw once and you purchase the Landscape model you will remember this advice. You will find yourself taking on more hedging jobs since the investment will return a nice profit your way many times over.

Yes, FR Jones can take care of your needs.

    All the best.

  3. Why does it need to change its gun laws .. The second amendment is built upon the right to bare arms against corrupt governments and the right to protect your family from harm . There's an argument to suggest if there was more conceal carry it would mean these perps would kill less people on their spree . If miss jihadi pulles out an ak or AR at a pub your in she needs to meet your best friend Mr Glock ...

You right. More than enough laws on the books. Enforcement of existing laws are by plan, not being enforced in order to further criminal adgends here in the states.

  4. America needs to change its gun laws,is it any wonder people and police officers are being shot when anyone can walk into gun shop and purchase an AK47 with very little checks being made..seriously something must be done, how many gun related shootings or fatalities have they had in the recent past in schools or education facilities.

    Shocking

Your wrong. You could not walk into a gun shop and purchase a gun. You would have to go through a back ground check, and only if you passed the BGC YOU COULD LEAVE WITH YOUR FIREARM. Any one else purchasing a gun and not passing a BGC Is breaking both state, federal laws. Criminals and terrorist are not completely stupid. Soft targets that are gun free zones are typical targets.

What's shocking is that I believe you actually believe what you posted.

FYI, if I choose I purchase pretty much any firearm I wanted anywhere, even the UK, I could. Just need to know where to shop and have enough cash.

Once upon a time pro active means of dealing with events over the last 8 years was common. Not any more.

  5. How does that compare against all deaths by police. It seems a lot but it's less than 3 per state. What's the population of the USA and how does the population actually break down by colour.

I'm not trying to be argumentative, but the media can be very selective in their reporting and use of statistics.

Very true Gary. Last US Census 320+ million. The poverty pimps will be racking up the frequent flyer miles this year for sure. If skin color has anything to do with shootings one will note when white lawn enforcement is gunned down by black criminals the black protestors do not exist. When white police or citizens attack or kill black or to a lesser extent darker skinned persons it's the end of the world, and the media sounds the trumpets for the pigs to line up to be fed.

Double standard, you bet. The race card has been played big time in my country over the last 40 years and the media has been right there everytime.

Last 8 years have been increditable with the master dealer at the top dealing a stacked deck on ever hand delt.

  6. Just read the headlines about the sniper killing 5 Dallas police officers, than killing himself just before he is captured. The latter is typical of this senerio for lone gunman of late in the USA. The two other shootings took place in Minnesota and Louisiana. Both are under investigation. Best I can tell the person in Louisiana was a bad know criminal with a lengthy wrap sheet. I believe he was ordered to stop by the police and he choose death by lead poisoning. The shooting in Minnesota is for now based on first hand account of a female recording the event and posting on social media. I have only heard the audio of this encounter. The govenor of Minnesota has already poisoned the potential jury pool by making inflammatory statements outside the governors house before the media and protestors. Until all sides of these shootings have been investigated I will only comment on what I believe is the truth and not media hype and hysteria. The media in the USA is very selective when it comes to reporting and presenting sensational stories of violence and crime. In nearly all cases the Jack ass party and its masses of asses supporters are in charge of the local or state governments and the police from the local level to the state and federal levels have their hands tied due to PC Crap and laws not being enforced.

There are solutions to problems across my country, however as long as the powers to be continue to ignore or selectively enforce laws and sentencing rules will have more of the same.

  7. Depending on weather your trees were. B/B or container grown may be one of the reasons why some trees are performing better than others. If your trees were container grown the root system may have girlded and slowly strangled the tree to death. Another cause could have been due to improper planting and allowing the root ball to come in contact with air pockets instead of soil. This can also stunt the growth of most trees if not kill them outright. Check the trees in question for either problem. If neither apply you may have a Ph problem that could be amended for better over all absorption of food and water.

  8. Have lived and worked in America, great experience...some of the most decent people I've met.

On the subject of America or Germany it's probably worth remembering that for the entire period of the Cold War it was an American led NATO that defended Germany from the Soviet Union.

    .

Thanks scotspine. I find it often odd that people have opinions drawn from the media having never visited or lived in my country. To each their own I guess.

  9. Pathetic. Now two groups of people along with the attorneys will be wasting and earning lots of money because of a tree that never should have been planted where it was and allowed to become a hazard. Must be another slow news cycle in NYC. The celebrity status means nothing to me, sad to say common sense must not have carried over from the parents.

  10. Andrew the new work shirts look great!. Do you have a business plan, 6 to 12 months cash in reserve to only use for non business expenses?. If yes to both review your old business venture and compare with the new one. If the business plan has not changed the results may be the same. Having reserve funding to handle all of your non business expenses will also be critical going forward.

    All the best.

  11. The 10 Ton capacity must refer to the Gross Maximum Ve-hical Weight - ie. it presupposes the driver and passenger each weigh 500kg. Plus the fuel - another 500kg. Plus lunch and soda pop - 250kg per person. So the payload is only really 8 tonnes. Would they be short tonnes or long tonnes? I heard the USA tonne is a bit lighter....Easyliftguy?

2000 lb for a ton here in Florida. This fish tale of 10,000 Ton capacity is a real whopper. I own a 2000 F-350 dullie with the V-10 Triton engine, petrol model.

I can haul in the back of the bed up to 4,000 lbs comfortably. I would not try and haul more simply because there is no additional room. Roughly once a month I pull a 36' trailer around and the overall gross weight is 24,000 lbs.

Anything more than that becomes problematic and stop and go traffic just gets to be to dramatic for me.

  12. Hmm. We have Hibiscus in Florida and I have never seen a hibiscus that looks like that.

It may be possible that you over watered the plant, however surrounded by a choking type of Ivey is surely not helping the surrival rate. I would attempt to dig it out and repot it until it recovers. Just make sure to keep it planted in a bed by its self so it not competing for food and water.

  13. William, I am planning on attending the duration of the show. If you only have one day plann ahead and make a route of who or what you wish to see. The show covers many acres of territory. I am planning on being out front of the FR Jones & Son tent. I will have your name tag available on the first day and everyday of the show until your ready to stop by and pick it up.

    easy-lift guy

  14. think name tags are an american thing Ted! Don't think you'll have much joy with this

Perhaps, however I can provide for any member a name tag with their user name or actual name upon request. I can make them at my office and bring them over for the show.
